Harm Reduction Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in Oxycodone pills

Hi,

In my country, a new type of pill hit the market. It looks very much like the original OC's (we still have them anyway, but they're very expensive, one script for 30 pills costs 140 Euros, whereas 60 pills 80mg of the new pills cost 95 Euros). After the color coating is washed off, crush the pill and dissolve it in water --> that's what I did. Dissolves well, and after micron-filtering, I banged it. Good rush, as usual. Equal to original oxys.

BUT I had some heart problems the next 3-4 days after that shot. Could be a coincidence but I don't know... Here comes the reason why I'm not sure:

The pills contain the detergent "sodium lauryl sulfate", a.k.a. "sodium laureth sulfate" and "sodium dodecyl sulfate".

A friend of mine who gave me a few of those pills for testing has shot them daily for at least 3 weeks now. He has got no problems yet. He micron-filters, like me. I read that sodium lauryl sulfate has haemolytic and hepatotoxic effects. And is its effect as a detergent harmful (when IVed)?

I still have seven of those 40mg babies and I want to shoot them. But I am a little scared.

The pill contains:
Kollidon SR (contains Polyvinylacetate, Povidon (K = 22,5 - 27,0), Sodiumdodecylsulfate, Siliciumdioxid), Cellulose microcrystalline, highly disperse waterfree Siliciumdioxid, Magnesiumstearat [from plants]

The coating contains:
Poly(vinylalcohol), Talkum (talc) (E 553 b), Titandioxid (E 171), Macrogol 3350, Sojalecithin (E 322), ferric oxide yellow (E 172), ferric oxide black (E 172), ferric oxide red (E 172)

Sorry if something is spelled wrong, I translated the words from German into English. Please note the Sodiumdodecylsulfate (sodium lauryl sulfate).

Does anybody of you know if it is dangerous? Is there a pill that people shoot that contains that stuff?

Greetz SSL

That's a sinister, malicious thing to include in a pill no matter what the reasoning. SLS is a serious irritant used mostly as a "sudsing agent" in soap, shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash, etc. to make the user feel they're doing a better job on account of the bubbles it produces. I don't allow in my mouth (I use a toothpaste that doesn't contain it) as it will irritate the lining of your mouth and, in my case, cause canker sores, so I certainly wouldn't allow it in my veins. I don't know if it was the cause of your heart problems. That's truly wicked, though :/

You guys are tripping out. The amount of SLS that is added into a pill as a delivery agent is truly miniscule. It's only added to facilitate dissolution of the tablet in the stomach.

to make the user feel they're doing a better job on account of the bubbles it produces.
Do I sense some bitterness here?

Sodium laureth sulphate is an effective surfactant and detergent, it does a wonderful job of lysing cell membranes and generally solubilising everything. Your alternatives are straight fatty acid salts which are unpleasant-smelling and leave a soapy residue, or wacky glycosides/saponins/polysorbates.

BUT I had some heart problems the next 3-4 days after that shot. Could be a coincidence but I don't know...
I think it's coincidence. Regardless, micron filtering is a smart idea.

Do I sense some bitterness here?

Absolutely! Wouldn't you if it gave you cankersores? :P

By the way, sodium lauryl sulphate and sodium laureth sulphate AKA sodium lauryl ether sulphate are two different compounds. Both are detergents but I've noticed the presence of SLES in 'sensitive' products that don't contain SLS, so it could feasibly be less irritating.

Do you guys think it's safe to inject those pills?

I use micron-filters of course. Been doing it for nearly two years now. I introduced them to the German speaking community (drogen-forum.net, eve-rave.ch, cannabis.at and so forth) and posted links to the bluelight micron-filtering mega thread, but I made my own too. Micron-filters rock!

The pills are called "Oxygerolan" and are made by Gerot Lannach, a.k.a. Lannacher a.k.a. G.L. Pharma. In Austria, their name is "Oxygerolan" as I said. In Germany, they are called "Oxycodon Lannacher".

I study pharmacy and know a little about all that stuff. But I don't know how dangerous that stuff is... I mean the micron-filter clogs after just 2-3 pills. Not because of insoluble particles, as I pre-filter with cotton. It's like some liquid blocking it. But the solution isn't gelly... I don't know. It would be great if Captain Heroin could look through the ingredients of the pills and tell me his opinion. I'll ask him.

My buddy said to me that he read on the internet that sodium lauryl sulfate "opens" the blood brain barrier somewhat, that would explain why the 120mg of oxycodone hit me that hard. I have a huge tolerance and 120mg oxy shouldn't touch me that hard.

Do you guys think it's safe to inject those pills? Probably, as long as you're filtering the particulate.

I mean the micron-filter clogs after just 2-3 pills. Not because of insoluble particles, as I pre-filter with cotton. No, that's insoluble particulate that's too small to be trapped by the cotton but still big enough to clog the micron filter.

My buddy said to me that he read on the internet that sodium lauryl sulfate "opens" the blood brain barrier somewhat, That's untrue, oxycodone goes right across the BBB anyway. And like I said, the amount of SLS in a pill is going to be minisculeand it's only added there to aid the pill dispersing in stomach acid completely.

I am also well aware of the differences between SLS and SLES (lauryl and laureth sulphates) but in the end they are both just surfactants. SLES has a few polyethylene glycol units attached between the sulphate and the lauric acid groups to improve surfactant actions.

Great, thank you for your knowledge!

I am worried that SLS's effects of decreasing the surface tension of water could be dangerous, because blood is made of water and cells.

One of those 40mg pills is about 1,5 times as big as an original OC40. Kinda look like the OP oxys, though I've never held one in my hands as I live in central Europe. But you know what I mean: Those new pills are higher and thicker, they are harder to crush and resemble the OP's in size I guess. So there is more fillers in it. I hope that the amount of SLS is very small.

Does anybody know a pill, capsule or whatever that people shoot and that contains sodium lauryl sulfate?

http://www.natural-health-information-centre.com/sodium-lauryl-sulfate.html

sodium lauryl sulfate is one of the most common poisons in the world. IT IS A VERY EFFECTIVE FOAMING AGENT <<<that could explain your heart problems? maybe there was some foam in your blood. seriously. be careful.

"Perhaps most worryingly, SLS is also absorbed into the body from skin application. Once it has been absorbed, one of the main effects of sodium lauryl sulfate is to mimic the activity of the hormone Oestrogen"

dude its fucked up if they are putting this shit in pills now. really fucked up. like maybe a class action law suit status fucked up? get money errbody!

If you think that SLS is a poison you obviously shouldn't use hand soap, toothpaste, shampoo, or any sort of cleaning products. Not that they've been used for over 40 years with minimal side effetcs aside from skin/mucous membrane irritation.

SLS as far as I know is not a xenoestrogen in the same manner that "real" xenoextrogens like bsiphenol A are. It's degraded in the body to sulphate and lauric acid, for fuckssake. It's not like SLS is some sort of inorganic undestroyable fluorocarbon toxin - it's a fairly natural product made from the sulfonation of cocoa butter (usually) and used worldwide as a detergent, foaming agent, cell lysing agent (for SDS-PAGE), and surfactant.

The absolutely tiny amount of SLS in a pill, again, is only added to enhance dispersion. There should be no more than 100mg of it in there. The only side effects of injecting SLS are mild irritation at the injection site - you are not injecting dish detergent into your veins.

This is pseudoscience scaremongering on the same level of e.g. aspartame, MSG, microwave radio, and other shit like that. Ridiculous.

sodium lauryl sulfate is one of the most common poisons in the world.
Salt is also a poison, and you can drown with 15ml of water, should we ban these too? What about sugar, sand, alcohol and tobacco? Hm? The dose makes the poison, my friend.

Hmm... but my friend has absolutely no problems! He injects those pills (at least 4 of them a day) for at least 3 weeks now, I guess it's a month that he got his first prescription for them. I introduced him to micron-filters two years ago, and he uses them all the time. He wouldn't shoot something that hasn't been micronfiltered. But the filter clogs after 2-3 pills and when I read that SLS and SLES are foaming agents, I could think that it kinda changes the water so it can't pass the filter membrane easily.

Micron filters clogging is normal. It's because they're filtering particulate out!

The SLS, at the concentrations in the pill used, is totally water soluble and won't pose a problem for the filter.

And what do you think, sekio? Can I IV 160mg (4 pills) when micronfiltered? It decreases the surface tension of water and is a foaming agent.

But how much could be in a single pill? One OC40 weighs about... 80mg, right? They have very little fillers in them. Those Oxygerolan 40mg look about 50% bigger. So let's say it weighs 100mg. 40mg is oxycodone-hcl. The first inactive ingredient is Kollidon SR (contains Polyvinylacetate, Povidon (K = 22,5 - 27,0), Sodiumdodecylsulfate, Siliciumdioxid).
So that means the pill contains Kollidon SR in the highest quantity, compared to the other inactive ingredients. But Kollidon SR is a mixture of the shown substances, and SLS is listed as the third substance. That means that Kollidon SR is made mainly of Polyvinylacetate and Povidone, some SLS and Siliciumdioxid (silicon dioxide).

I am withdrawing at the moment and I need a shot really bad. I got some morphine caps here that I get from my doctor, I use them every day IV. But I am withdrawing really bad and I want that oxy rush. What do you think, can I inject it? I have already done it twice, but that was two weeks ago and after it I was felt sick for days. But I got ill anyways as I got poisoned by old meat that I ate at that day. But my heart felt really weird the night after I shot the pills. It raced and my pulse was not rhythmic, it was quite arhythmic. I have an arrhythmic pulse for years now, and I had a surgery (through my leg veins) on my heart to remove the arrhythmias. But I hadn't had a tachycardia or arrhythmia for a year two weeks ago when I shot the pills, and then I got it again (when I tried to sleep). But I have to say that I hadn't slept well for days and that I was totally exhausted.

I want to shoot them anyway... My friend shoots them every single day for weeks and hasn't got any problems. Maybe I am just a little pussy.

Go right ahead - just use a micron filter. The PVA and Povidone are probably what's gumming up the filter.

As you said, your friend seems to be doing this with no problems. Use a micron filter and don't worry.

Layman's terms: these are safe to inject after micron filtration.

I found out that Kollidon SR contains just 0,8% SLS and 0,2% silicon dioxide as STABILIZERS. YES!!!

I will take a hell of a lot diazepam now so that I don't panic if I feel anything in my chest. I always think it's because of what I do at the moment (for example: drinking alcohol, eating certain food, doing this or that, or in this case: injecting pills that are ment to be swallowed).

I will tell you how it was. I got 7 of those babies here. I'll prepare 4 of them.

Be careful combining opioids and benzodiazepines - the two will potentiate each other and it could lead to you stopping breathing.

Ok... I prepared it just one minute ago. I'll shoot it right now. If I don't reply in 5 minutes, I'm dead. No joke.

Hmmm... I hope everything's alright.

I just shot about 120mg of it. Let's see what happens in the next few hours. I feel a little euphoric, but I also feel a little bit of anxiety. Thank god some chemists/pharmacists have synthesized benzodiazepines some decades ago! I took 15mg diazepam per oral, I think I'll swallow another 5mg of those drops. I love those diazepam drops, they help within 20 minutes. Much faster than pills.

Edit: Hmm I'm not sure what to think about it. My friend loves them. He thinks that they're even better than the original OC's from Mundipharma (Mundipharma has bought the rights for Oxycontin from Purdue Pharma, and they still produce the original OC's).
I still like OC's much more. Their taste, their smell... and they contain only insolubles I think. Here's the list of OC's ingredients:
80 mg Oxycodonehydrochloride = 72 mg Oxycodone, Lactose, Povidone, Ammoniummethylacrylat Polymere Dispersion, Sorbic acid, Triacetin, Stearylalkohol, Talkum (talc), Magnesiumstearat, Hypromellose (E464), Hydroxypropylcellulose, Titandioxid (E171), Macrogol, ferric oxide yellow (E172), Indigokarmin Lack (E132).

But the last few ones are the coating. Most of that stuff should be safe. Heck, I shot the 20's for a week, the 40's for 3 months and the 80's for 14 months. They are relatively safe to inject. But tolerance is a bitch.

While I don't consider using SLS on your skin or hair comparable to using it in the more sensitive tissues of the circulatory system, I admit there's probably only a tiny amount, not enough to matter much, and it is totally bio-degradable--if there was much in there, you'd be finding some suds when preparing your shot :P It's still a substance best avoided even used as intended if you have sensitive skin, a predisposition to canker sores (most toothpaste contains SLS), or you have long hair that dries out easily or is fragile. As a strong surfactant it can be overkill for most of those applications, but I still use it in a shampoo in place of my regular stuff once a week for deep cleaning of foreign oils or dirt, which it's more effective at removing than other primary ingredients. SLS in moderation! That concludes this edition of hair harm reduction.

I have to say that I am totally into conspiracy theories and all that stuff, and I totally agree: aspartame, flour, chlorine, iodine and all that stuff we consume are toxic and change our brain chemistry. They change the way we think and therfore: how we act.

I recommend watching/reading David Icke's works. He's a great man who has researched so much about the world conspiracy. Only 9 months ago, I would have laughed in your face if you told me one of those conspiracy theories, but after researching it, reading books and watching videos I am totally into it. Give it a chance and you'll see why drugs are being prohibited. It's a tool to control the masses. Nothing more. The elite wants more and more power, and they want to control humanity physically, spiritually and emotionally in every possible way. They also want to wipe out a great part of humanity. They want to diminish the world population to 500 million to 1 billion at highest.

Drug prohibition is just one of many tools for that agenda.

I'll shoot the remaining 3 pills now, after it I'll shoot 250mg morphine. My doctor told me that in a few weeks, he'll give me a prescription for either OC's or the new ones. I am so excited! I really hope he'll chose to write me a prescription for OC's, because I know that they're safe. But I'd also love to have these new generics. You know: In central Europe (Germany and Austria in particular, the German speaking community), oxycodone generics are crap. But this one seems to be good. They are about 80% like the original OC's. They are chewable, snortable and shootable. Great stuff you'd think, but I'm still worried.

I'm shooting it in 20 seconds. If i don't reply in 5 minutes, I'm dead. :-/
