I'm kind of interested in browsing through "The Simple Plant Isoquinolines" too, might have to track down a copy of that one of these days :)

^ I just looked that up then... sounds like an interesting read as well, but apparently doesn't cover the pharmacological effects of the compounds in question? Seems like it would be a good reference source for finding an interesting compound and then researching it, but would be nice if that information was in the book as well. :)

We should have an AusDD 'recommended drug books' thread or something. :D

Just mentioning TiHKAL & PiHKAL... I'm almost 100% they're illegal in Queensland Mr. Blonde... so is the book 'American Psycho' actually.

*sigh* Gotta love Queensland's laws!

^^luckily the book police aren't all that common ;)

This one is a good book, albeit expensive. I had a copy given to me by a chemistry student earlier this year and only just got it back from lending it to a close friend. Luckily this one is not illegal in Qld because that's where it's headed next :)

Is there a website or anything like that which lists illegal books? This is the first I've heard of it...
Should be all sweet in WA right?

^ I know atleast one of them, PiHKAL I believe, is outlawed in Australia as a whole but I don't believe the other is. If there was one state to outlaw both I would not be surprised if it was QLD as they do seem to have tougher drug laws in general.

Haha, yeah, this thread is definitely off topic :P
PiHKAL is outlawed throughout Australia... one of my friends had to get special permission from her university to have a look at it. You can get a license to possess it for intellectual purposes, but that's probably hard to get if you're not a chemistry professor. Australia actually has a lot of censorship on movies, books, games etc. (I'm not just saying this as a conspiracy). It's not too bad, but it does happen.
I'll have to have a look whether TiHKAL is illegal... but as Psilo said: the book police aren't that common ;)
