Soda Stream?

So a guy at work was telling me that apparently you can get high from Soda Stream. I more or less laughed it off thinking it was some sort of myth like the ol' banana skins.

Coincidentally enough, later a customer who seemed a bit suspect asked me if we sold (I work at a large discount retail store) Soda Stream. My only knowledge of Soda Stream is that its pretty much the syrup that you mix with carbonated water to make soft drink (I think).

So now I'm wondering if there's any truth to it? Anyone ever heard anything about Soda Stream?
 
Maybe they are confusing CO2 with N2O. Carbon dioxide is used to fizz soft-drinks, and nitrous oxide is used for whipping cream. Inhaling CO2 from a soda stream will result in shortness of breath and possible suffocation. Inhaling N2O will result in giggling. Lots of giggling.

Hey may have confused Nitrous Oxide (cream charger) bulbs with soda bulbs.

If so I'd be getting in contact with the poor guy ASAP as soda bulbs are pure C02 and are very dangerous to inhale.

A friends younger brother saw us doing nitrous bulbs one day and bought the soda ones thinking that they were what we were using. The next time we saw him he was explaining how the bulbs aren't any fun and just make you go blue and pas out :\

A mixture of CO2 and oxygen, known as Carbogen, is reported to produce a psychedelic effect. Shulgin mentioned it in the text section of Pihkal (not in the online sections) and others on this board have also discussed it.

Check this thread from about six months ago.

However, there are risks as people have mentioned. Taking CO2 directly from a soda dispenser is really dangerous. Not only does increasing the level of CO2: O2 ratio affect how much oxygen you're getting, it lowers blood pH, producing the condition known as acidosis.

IMO if someone is intending to give this a go, they need to read up well before hand, and have the required equipment to correctly mix O2 and CO2, and they need someone as a co-pilot to administer oxygen if something goes wrong. That person should also be well acquainted (trained) with said administration.

I thought about this, but it isn't possible with a soda stream machine.

The set up needed for this to work would be way more sophisticated.

Anybody with the knowledge to properly use the C02/O2 combo certainly wouldn't be going on about soda streams :\

I swear you are the only person that i ever see making this statement Sustanon, but each to their own.
 
^ I have to second good ol' Sustanon as the only person I have ever seen to prefer poppers to nitrous. I guess it's possible, I know one weirdo who finds seroquel more recreational than morphine if you can believe that!
 
^ Very true, although given your appreciation of other benzo's I am not convinced your opinion would hold if you tried a decent dose of temazepam now. That is a conversation for another thread however. ;)

iirc, in remember in Pihkal, the subject merely popped his head in a dry ice freezer and took a few breaths.

I love PiHKAL and TiHKAL, I got both of them for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and have been flipping through book two of each, haven't had time to sit down and properly read the autobiographical sections though yet.

They are the best parts of the books IMO.

I was under the impression that only Pihkal was restricted in Australia? They have both on the Borders .com.au website.
