It wasn't taxpayers money, but the queen's.

And it wasn't wasted, it was just how you or I would celebrate if we had that much money to play with.
 
I don't know a single person who enjoyed the "celebrations", or thought it was money well spent.

A lot of people enjoyed the Bank Holidays, and the freedom to get drunk and drugged up more than they normally would on a weekend.

Over 1 in 60 people went to the river pageant, which cost £10 mil - which was actually paid for by donations from people who wanted to throw the party. The Queen got an extra £1 million for the Jubilee costs she incurred. So sadly this year we are still only in £159 million of profit from the Queen - or £850 million if you included the boost to tourism it provided :(

Also, do your figures re profit to the country etc take into account the entire royal family or are they worked out as (Profit from Queen) - (Cost of Queen) as oppose to (Profit from Queen) - (Cost of entire royal family)? (That's a genuine question btw, not me trying to be a dick lol)

I don't really know where I stand on the queen tbh. I understand that economically it apparently is a benefit, yet I think it is absolutely disgusting that people are allowed to live such lives of privilege through no personal effort or actual worth, just luck of the birth.

We couldn't take all of her shit, because she legally owns it. She didn't sign away ownership, just the profit she makes from owning it. The Queen costs £30m per year, her family costs £10m per year on top of her. If she weren't Queen she wouldn't get stealth taxed and we'd all have to pay about £2.60 per year more tax to cover it.

I can see why it bothers people that some people are born into better lives than others, but I don't see what we can do about it. Sure you can do away with the concept of Monarchy, but she doesn't really make any decisions any way. Her great great grandchildren are still going to be born into enourmous wealth, just like you and I were compared to the rest of the planet. Did you know first born children are far more likely to succeed in life than second born children? In the interest of equality perhaps we should follow China's lead and have a one child policy? Even if we did away with inheritence completely you could still inherit enourmous intelligence or awesome good looks from your parents. Or your parents could just simply be better parents, and raise you with values that lead to a better life for you.

I was about to say the same, then I thought about it & strangely enough I do know someone that went. A bird I know who went to some sort of top drama school in London (that says it all really, ie - posh cunt. Nice girl though haha. Used to get ruined on ecto with her back in the day, I bet her current pals would be utterly disgusted by the likes of me though lol) & still stays there. She was right in about it. But she's all "break a leg", strawberries & champagne etc.

MSB - Sorry, I see you did answer my question re the rest of the family. I don't believe that. If the queen costs £30m then there's fucking no chance that the countless other wee inbred fucks that cut about only cost £10m in total. No chance at all.

Probably cost about £10m just to protect Harry while he "went to war".
 
I know theres a lot of 'ahem' personal vendettas in Eadd.. and I really wouldnt want to take sides here..but the fucking ganging up thing is really ugly..
