According to the bupe physician who maintains the suboxonetalkzone blog, agonist effects of buprenorphine top out at the equivalent to 30mg oral methadone at 2-4mg/day of buprenorphine. 80mg morphine/day is equianalgesic to only 8mg of methadone/day and the 20µg/hr patches should release 4.8mg buprenorphine/day which should be equivalent to considerably over 8mg methadone or 80mg morphine/day as far as mu-agonism but level of mu-agonism doesn't exactly translate to analgesia so if suboxone is a less efficient analgesic (as I expect it is), those numbers seem accurate.
Also, to be accurate, Purdue suggests patients requiring the equivalent of 30-80mg of morphine/day start with the *10µg/hr* patch and for those using above 80mg to titrate down to the equivalent of 30mg morphine/day before switching and just that those who required over 80mg morphine/day MAY not find the 20µg/hr bupe patch to provide sufficient analgesia.
If you are going to make claims, C.H, try doing some research first and not just commenting as if your opinions or expectations are fact.
