Soap Bar vs Quality Hash

I'd kill for some decent hash again. Weed's nice, but it's too much of a faff imo. It's bulky, it stinks to high heaven and you need a grinder to get the most out of it.

It's much harder to be a stealth toker with weed.

pre soapbar we had access to a plethora of high quality hash options in the uk, it was everywhere...then just totally gone!... then soapbar which i refused to smoke cos it was pure shite

lucky enough over last decade or so to have access (not constant, occasional but enough) to good quality hash....it goes for £50-£80 a quarter though...and that's at mates rates even...but it ranges from good to exceptional quality so worth every penny in the current climate

As for soapbar, it varied enormously in quality. I believe the name came about because it came packaged in 9oz bars that resembled a bar of soap. At first it was a standard low to medium grade hash.

There was plenty of clean soapbar around, and I'm sure there's plenty of people my own vintage that would still smoke it instead of green if it could be found, I haven't seen a 9bar in at least 10 years. Bad soapbar,(we called it diesel) was a very rare exception rather than the rule, and you'd have to be a brave man to land it on somebody!

hmm ime the best quality soapbar was about as good as low quality pollen, and the poor soap was what was commonly available with the truly grim stuff quite fequent too...we are talking UK here though

I definitely wouldn't choose to smoke even the best quality soap were it still available personally

I think 9bars were only manufactured for the UK/Irish market. Never came across them on the continent. Most of it was clean and smooth. Decent soap tasted the same as the king hassan/standard polm that's still sold in coffeeshops at the lower end of the price scale. It was a childhood staple for me so will always have a special place in my heart. (And lungs lol)

Here it came in 250 grams, sometimes with the shape of a soap bar, but more often they were rectangles of the side of a phone but obviously wider.

That's the good thing about Britain and Ireland, hash is expensive but you have dif. kinds of it.

Here it is cheap but all you have is morrocan.
You can find other things sometimes as a curiosity but there is not a regular supply.

im glad its had a resurgence again, its lovely for those of us who dont wanna waste money on weed and also be able to buy 3.5g and it last a few days and not just 1. The triple filter stuff is quality! plenty of eggs too, seen mango kush and 'rick and morty' eggs about, so theres a good bit about but its 30 1/8th or 60 a q and id rather pay that for hash than for weed

Soap bar is only something I came across once or twice in my teens. Gross stuff and found bits of plastic in it. Growing up in China, hash was actually far more common than weed. The best was this black sticky Afghan stuff, very narcotic-y, then this greenish pressed pollen from Pakistan and occasionally this very cheap pollen that was loose and bone dry, but perfect for converting into hash oil... no ty soap bar, bleugh.

Have got a couple different truly exquisite quality hashes at moment, beautiful high so smooth wow superchilled...my present fave form of cannabis...and my first love (well, y'know)...

edit -paying £80 on half ounce also, true bargain for the superior quality, definitely mates rates (but same price everyone else pays as they only sell to mates anyway, legends)

No it isn’t, good hash is probably cheaper now (in real terms) than it’s ever been, and it’s definitely more available than ever. You can easily buy a 100g bar of good quality hash for £350-400.

As others have said gold seal has got absolutely nothing to do with soap bar, but it is often shit quality. Crappy afghan bollocks masquerading as Leb. The quality of Moroccan is as good as from anywhere else in the world these days though (manala aside maybe).

OP: Thankfully soap bar is basically non existent now. I’m sure it still exists in some godforsaken corners of the country but it’s gone from being 95% of the market in the late 90s to almost impossible to buy even if you were looking for it.
