Got a hold of some Temaz for my insomnia, doctor recomended 10mg but it didn't work so I tried 20mg and still couldn't get to sleep. Tried 40mg in total and I was finally knocked out, the doctor said have 20mg max. I've had Xanax and Clon before, do you think it could be something to do with a tolerance, even though I haven't touched Benzos in about a month?

Yeah as MrBlonde mentioned it's pretty unlikely. Doctors prescribe those combos all the time.

It was a smaller amount than usual? I get headaches from high doses of opiates sometimes.

Serotonin syndrome is fucked :( as I'm sure you probably know from reading. I got what I think was a mild case of it from effexor + meth and bupe. Got a headache first, it was much more intense than any I've had before. Then I got really cold...starting shivering more than I ever have before, was freezing and went foetal position on the floor in front of the heater...felt so cold I needed 2 layers of jumper and pants. Realised that was probably stupid and took my temperature...can't remember what it was but def. well above normal, forced myself to shed clothes and drink water. It was very traumatic :\ luckily it resolved after 4 hours or so. If it ever happened again I'd ring an ambulance as I know how dangerous it can be, doubt I'll let it happen again though, way more careful these days with combinations.

yeah well i think it had something to do with the pristiq, i stopped taking it since then and did the same dose of oxy + xanax and no headache... (was several days after not taking it, im well aware of the long half life)
but yeah i probably shouldn't have got off that stuff, when im out of oxy and just binge on xanax i get huge rebound anxiety (such as now) just shit scared i will get panic attacks so keep redosing
ive had slight w/d from opiates/benzos and id still think panic attacks are worse, but then full blown w/ds i have never experienced, thankfully

shit sucks too cos my doc cut my xanax script in half when he put me on pristiq so i don't have a clue what im gonna do when i run out, also my oxy dealer doesn't even reply to my messages lately so im pretty sure he is either just using them all himself or getting a better deal w/e
feels bad :(
 
Whats the deal with threads that disappear off the front page? Couldnt find this thread on page 2, or in the AusDD archive or using the search engine with keyword "benzos" in the title. Weird. Anyway, had no troubles pulling it back from the ether with Google.

So Ive got temazepam... (bloody doc wouldnt prescribe diazepam... his main reason being the long half life. Stupid.) Ive scanned the thread for all temaz info, but I was curious if anyone else has some positive experiences?

Is it worth snorting?
 
^ not worth snorting in my opinion; works okay for insomnia relief for a brief period of time but I found I built a tolerance very very quickly (would be having to double my dose every few days until I ran out) and I'd often be fine getting to sleep on it but would wake up halfway through the night and be unable to return to sleep. So the short half-life on subjective effects can also be a pain :/
 
So its not as simple as 20mg temaz = roughly equiv. to 5-10mg diazepam eh? Damn. From everything Im reading it really is more of a sleep aid than it is an anti-anxiety med. And recreational doses are up around 45mg + ? Seems like if you have no tolerance then such a high dosage would surely just knock you out.

Ah well. Ill have a mess about and do some experimenting. See how it goes with codeine later.

Wish I didnt have to work at 9am tomorrow:\ Lucky its still early though =D (and Australia still have a chance of claiming a win in this test!).
 
Yeah it seems snorting temaz tabs will be just as pointless as snorting any other benzo. The reports of positive experiences with snorting I read earlier were for the brand of temaz that comes in gelcaps. These preparations are water soluble apparently and so snorting them is a viable alternative to taking orally. Pretty sure these type (the gel caps) were a lot more common here in Aus a few years ago but were heavily abused due to their ease of IV'ing, and were thus pulled from the market.

Anyway Im a little more optimistic about temaz after reading a bunch of reports claiming that it is the most euphoric benzo. Quite a few passionate posters around the interwebs had very good things to say about it. Although there is also an equal number of posts claiming the opposite (that its the least euphoric benzo).
 
I detoxd off a 20-40mg a day Xanax habit about a month ago and it was HELL. One thing that may not have been mentioned here is that Xanax, Lorazepam and one other will be made Schedule 8 by end of 2012. This isn't heresay, the drug and alcohol specialist informed me when I was an in patient. So those who doctor shop, enjoy whilst you still can!

I ran out of Diazepam the other day and went to a doctor whom id never seen before, walked out with a 2mg Xanax script plus 2 repeats. Shows they still have no idea...

seems weird putting just some benzos on S8, I guess ones they are finding are more shopped for. But still its not like S8 stuff isn't already on the black market. Meh I still find stilnox far far better at being an anxiolytic and euphoric and better for sleep than any benzo
 
Just what i was told. Yes 40mg+ a day. I ate a whole bottle of 2mg one night in the depths of my addiction to see how much it would effect me (fucking idiotic but its happened, get over it). I got a few friends to note changes in personality/co-ordination and general demeanour and all they picked up was minor slurring of speech. I am almost immune to them. However never will i walk that path again.

Yes and No. I was addicted to Meth for 12 months in 2010. Massive habit. I managed to get myself off that cold turkey with no help, yet i couldn't shake Xanax. Thats my only argument for it being more restricted, its so damn addictive, but the worst part is the detox. It takes months of weening off. Meth/Heroin isn't like this. I think Xanax should be S8, the others i dunno.

However ive gone through hell and back with Xanax so my opinion may be bias.
 
I used between 4-6mg of xanax on top of my oxy daily for years and totally fucked my tolerance and its barely gone away even after years, its quite devastating. I rarely use them now, that doesnt mean I dont absolutely love them :P What I would do to try Midazolam IV or Rohypnol. Anyway just had 45mg of Diazepam with gf juice and feeling very nice, its great I dont have the opportunity to really abuse these coz it is much more satisfying on an infrequent basis. I am kind of using it now coz im still coming down from meth, but I used to use so much meth coz I had easy access to xanax so I can see how addicted you could get just using after meth binges coz the comedown lasts longer than the meth high IMO so your always popping big amounts of xanax. Glad thats over for me.
 
So grape fruit juice interacts favourably with benzos too?

Just got me a fresh new script for alprazolam... nice. Now for self-discipline ;) lol think I said that last time.
 
^ Grape fruit definately potentiates diazepam and I am pretty sure alrazolam as well.

I haven't been using much benzo's lately but diazepam saved my fucking life yesterday.

Ive felt like my life has been saved by xanax/valium in the past. Well, if not my life at least my short term state of mind.
 
^ I just spent the day before drinking WAY too fucking much and woke up very ill and feeling like a train hit me. I don't particularly enjoy benzodiazepines recreationally by themselves anymore but it seems for whatever reason they fix just about any shit feelings right up for me.
 
^ I'm kind of the same as you d_m; I find some benzodiazepines will fix up hangovers from alcohol, MDMA, etc... very well. Though I do enjoy them recreationally, probably due to the high levels of stress I'm under at the moment and the relief they provide.

I should have paid attention to some of the warnings in this thread; I've lost two months of my life to Xanax. :\
