I think it depends on what kind of anxiety muntedmunter is having.

If he's addicted to nicotine and gets anxious during withdrawal, then Zyban would definitely help.

In America, it's also prescribed for people with Depression, ADHD, and occasionally Asperger Syndrome (a kind of high functioning Autism).

The increased Dopamine and Noradrenaline levels would make some people more confident/euphoric/attentive, but other people may react with jitters and even more panic attacks, so it's a mixed pot.

Benzos are perfect for quick symptomatic anxiety relief, but tolerance builds fast with daily use, and addiction to them is horrid. Best to be used occasionally.
 
Is it possible for Oxazepam to have no effect on some people?

I was given a few packs of a 30mg strips by a friend. I had one waited 2 hrs, waited another 2. rinse repeat until I had 150mg.

Doesn't fill like much or maybe I'm missing the point.

I haven't touched a drop of alcohol or anything at all for that matter btw either.

I was expecting to feel a little chilled out and mellow at least but I have bugger all experience with benzos really.

I agree. My friend Mary takes them and I ask, "What's the point in taking them if you're not going to remember the experience." She replied, "sometimes I find that perfect dose where I remember everything and I feel a wonderful drunkenness, but most the time for twelve hours I disappear from my life. A benzo blackout sounds more dangerous than an LSD trip without someone to babysit you until the drugs wear off (or is it spelled ware off?). Thank god I don't have to do drugs to be happy of want to.
 
Zyban and Wellbutrin are both brand names for Bupropion.

However in Australia, Zyban is only officially approved for quitting smoking, so it'll be hard for you to get Zyban prescribed as an antidepressant/ADHD drug etc unless you have a more flexible GP who's willing to make an exception.

I guess you could always lie to a GP and say you want to quit smoking and that the nicotine patches aren't good enough for you :) . But then, you'll only receive a prescription for 30 pills, and a follow up repeat prescription of 90 pills. I dunno if you'll be allowed to be prescribed any more after that, coz it's for "quitting smoking" purposes...
 
So I ate 250mg of valium the other night, drank a few beers. NOTHING.

Guess my 6-10mg xanax habit daily has killed benzo's for me for a while.

Its out of the system fast and yeah, it doesnt have much effect although with alcohol it can cause black outs on around 90mg pretty bad with no tolerance to it.

Its better mixed with valium but thats just leading to bad aiddiction.

Mogadon is probably better
 
I went to the doctor today hoping to get valium because of poor sleep plus ssri withdrawal. previously i had been given valium for poor sleep alone. My normal doctor wasn't there, so I got stuck with another one. anyway, she only gave me 25 x 10mg temazapam! grrr.

So what is a good recreational dose of temaz? I've never had it before, how does it compare to valium? Also, its a more sedating benzo, right? So is it safe to take with a small dose of codeine which will be under 100mg?
 
^ already had 20mg, with 5mg snorted. about 60mg of codeine.

I used to have a bit of benzo habit, but haven't had any for ages. I've got a bit of a buzz happening, but not much. prefer the valium to be honest. wish my usual doctor was there :(
 
sorry for the double post. had another 30mg of codeine. so 90mg codeine and 30mg temaz. feeling nice and relaxed. definately alot more sedating than valium. I may have spoken too soon, its quite a nice benzo. not overly strong like valium or xanax, but is more relaxing and gives a nice body buzz. synergies very well with codeine (as benzos do).

I'm not wanting to get into bad habits, so i won't ask for anymore again. however, just before I go overseas I was wanting to get some valium or xanax - mainly to chill on the plane, and all the fucking hardcore bus trips I will be taking in latin america. plus its good for comedowns, my mate is going to shout me some nice molly, coke and maybe some shard in the states.

has anyone had much luck in citing fear of flying for a benzo script? I have previously being diagnosed with anxiety (though i don't really get it anymore) so that should help. is it commonly prescribed for this?

Sorry for the benzo ramble....it happens ;)

Unless you are a palliative care patient, you can only receive that amount of temazepam with no repeats under the PBS. If the doctors thinks it's necessary, he or she can write you a private script though with repeats. It would be somewhat more expensive, but not by much.

Temazepam isn't too bad, a lot of people seem to like it. I used to use it a fair bit a couple of years back mixed with opioids, the shorter half-life I considered a benefit for some circumstances but I did have a few blackouts.

i find benzos to be the only thing that work for my RLS but am always refused any on the grounds that they 'could' be addictive lol.

Not much effect = zero effect. In hindsight, I think I was being silly hoping for a high at all. Oxazepam for me is rubbish.

I'll be throwing what I have left in the bin.

No high when ingested but feel like rubbish and CNS system feels a little lethargic today.

Only pharm I've tried that I enjoy is Hydrocodone, but again without having visited a doctor in over a decade my experience is limited.
 
^ Are you American? We don't get hydrocodone here anymore, but maybe you got it before it stopped being used here.

I'll be a disposal service for everyone here hating on oxazepam, I like it for some reason. :)
