I like benzos. What's not to like? I wish they provided euphoria, but then I guess they would be Oxy instead....

Repeat Scripts for Benzos

Hi guys!

If this is against forum guidelines just let me know.

I was wanting to check whether doctors are able to write repeat scripts for benzos (nothing strong or crazy qualities - 5mg diazepams and 10mg temazepams) as currently my doctor isnt doing so and im not sure if its because of my age, past drug history or actual legislation (and i havent wanted to rock the boat by asking him). Its not a big deal really, just as he no longer bulk bills it getting pricey to constantly have to pay to see him just to get a script that once im there he never questions...so obviously if i were possible to get repeats and cut down on visits it would be great.

Im in NSW if it matters

Cheers!

:)

They CERTAINLY can and don't let him tell u otherwise. My doc gives me a repeat that lasts me 3 months(1 with 3 repeats).

together I can understand your bliss. But xanax and kpins don't do anything for me but knock me out. I don't get euphoria from xanax or kpins or ativan.

If u have a tolerance to em they wont knock u out or u just mite have a natural high tolerance to them and it may not benefit u at all 1st time i took em many years back id knock myself out for a good 10hours waking up thinkin wtf happened last nite? On 5.5 bars right now and still wide awake. Sorta fightin the sleepiness but def not as hard as when i first started and it seems my memory is starting to be ok on them as well LOL. Usually my short term memory is totllly gone on it. My motion control is a complete different story tho LOL

Ps: Kinda unrelated but i feel the same way u do with serequel which has no recreational value for me. I just knocks me out and thats it. Only thing its good for is a good nites sleep LOL
Now where did u put my back scratcher thingymabob LOL

I get diazepan on repeat, but only two weeks worth.

112 mg a fortnight.

The bastard just don't trust me.

I'm in UK:)

I've never been given a repeat temaze/diaz script in my life. The dodgey dr's I frequented allowed people to come back once every 2 weeks. Which was good, if I could be bothered going back every 2 weeks, but the government clamped down on over prescribing benzo dr's and the dr's I visited have had their ability to prescribe benzo's taken taken away. Well that's what they tell me anyway.

Doctors normally check the dates to monitor your usage, but it all depends on the circumstances eg) if you’re using the medication for panic attacks then the doctor definitely would not write repeats unless you can prove to him your taking the medication cautiously because he knows it isn’t worth it to be dependent on them for panic attacks, but for anxiety it could be a different story.

Hey Sowle, I just merged your thread into the benzo megathread. Your question is something that you should really discuss with your doctor though. Just be honest, tell them you can't afford a consultation for every script and see if they can offer you an alternative?

You have to realise though that no doctor is going to jump at the opportunity to hand out repeat scripts for an abusable drug where addiction & tolerance are concerns.

This thread is long, you may have already said, but what benzos do you like?

I'm on Xanax and I don't like them at all. Not even very good for anxiety from my point of view. For me it's both stimulating and an anti-anxiety drug. The word that comes to mind when I think about xanax is "Harsh" . Which is why I think some people like them. Valium on the other hand is a legitimately relaxing & mellow benzo.

You can definately notice xanax in your system, but I just wouldn't consider it's effects enjoyable or euphoric. More unpleasant, but it does give me anti anxiety effects, but at the same time it's sort of stimulating and makes me nervous.

Problem i have with valium is that it stays in the blood for so long it creates a tolerance really easily. At one stage i was taking 1 valium a night, and after about a week my usual dose of temaze and xanax no longer worked. I've been taking temaze and xanax for years with no tolerance problems but 1 week on 5mg valium a night and BAM i've got an across the board tolerance. Would be nice if there was something like valium but with a shorter 1/2 life

I have had an awesome day so far today, got scripted 25 valium and filled it at my local pharmacy, whilst walking out I inspected my meds as usual and to my delight I found they had accidentally given me 50 instead of 25. What a lovely mistake! Haha.

I totally agree on the shorter 1/2 life for valium, i would try my best to stay away from valiums because of the longterm side effects and also very addictive compared to xanax. But it is always great to see people like you using benzo's in a responsible manner, i trully believe it is possible to stay on the same dose for xanax as long as you keep it at the right rhythm.

^ I really don't think you can claim diazepam to be more addictive in nature than alprazolam, I mean when you look at it medically the drug with the shorter half-life (in this case alprzolam/xanax) will cause physical dependence quicker and generally causes worse withdrawals with cessation than a similar drug with a long half-life.

Personally I am quite experienced with both diazepam and alprazolam, and I like diazepam more, I suppose in this sense you could say diazepam is more addictive to me than alprazolam, but if anything I would wager more people prefer xanax over valium.

I have also never noticed valium fucking up my tolerance to other benzo's, personally I have always used a lot of valium when using benzo's but I never really noticed my tolerance sky rocket until I started eating heaps of xanax bricks.

^xanax is, by most reliable medical equivalency charts, twice as potent as diazepam;) problem solved!

from memory most other benzos you use aren't equipotent but less potent than diazepam. so unless you were taking doses modestly excessive of the equal diaz doses then you'd see a definite spike in tolerance.

correct me if i'm wrong on your benzo use. the facts still remain though.

14mg clonazepam today with 7 full-strength beers and I'm discontent, slightly agitated, depressed, sad, unhappy and still having anxious thoughts. Fuck... I'm coherent enough to write this post, that should say enough... not having to re-spell every word. What I'm trying to say is, if you have anxiety problems dig very deep and try to get over it with therapy and non-drug related methods because benzo dependance sucks (and that's the understatement of the year :\) I chose benzos, I'm not a happy person. Take what you will from this post, I'm just speaking from my own experience.

^ That's a pretty fucked out tolerance dude, even with my alcohol and benzodiazepine tolerance at it's peak the two combined has always been a one way ticket to black out city for me, generally speaking.

It really does suck that amongst all that you are still feeling anxious, I hope one day you resolve those issues mate.

Anxiety is a fucked affliction, and I am yet to find a cure myself (although perhaps I do not try hard enough) benzodiazepines definately work well for me but I have been lucky enough to avoid addiction thus far.
