So which DXM cough syrup should i buy?

I'm completely new to dxm, never heard of it before. Which one gives you the auditory/visual hallucinations? One that makes you euphoric? Is there differents kinds of dxm syrups that makes you feel different things or are do all the dxm syrups give you the same side effects? Also, how much are they?
 
I don't think there are any that give you specific effects like you describe, but you want to avoid any bottles that contain Acetaminophen/APAP and find the lowest amount of guafensin.

If there is anything other than Guaf and DXM in the syrup, don't drink it.
 
We don't do price discussion but what you are looking for is a DXM only formula, meaning that the list of "active ingredients" on the label shouldn't list anything but dextromethorphan hcl (that is: DXM).

Otherwise just keep looking. :)

(there is no real difference between DXM products in the sense that e.g. some would produce more visual effects)

Read the vault, especially the FAQ. DXM is a relatively safe drug but it does have a number of drug interactions and you need to make sure that you get the right product.

The best product to get will have the only active ingredient as dextromethorphan HBr. The only other active ingredient that is okay (but can give you some pretty brutal diarrhea in high doses) is guaifenisin. Robitussin DM contains guaifenisin and dextromethorphan. From what I heard, Robitussin pulled the regular Robitussin Maximum Strength Cough off of the market which was the easiest to go down (it was an alcohol/dextromethorphan mix) - don't get any product that says cough and cold or anything similar as these usually have pseudoephedrine or antihistamines which can be fatal in overdose.

Do a lot of research on it before you do it. It is a very intense experience if you aren't properly prepared for it (and quite often even with proper preparation it is still overly intense).

If you take any prescription meds, check for interactions with dextromethorphan. Avoid DXM if you are on anti-psychotics or anti-depressants and never mix it with ecstasy.

Always check the active ingredients because the wrong active ingredients can kill you. This is the number one rule of DXM.

Yeah, the first step towards trying DXM is reading the FAQ and reading it thoroughly.

Dxm only

Wise advise. Dxm can be a gnarly mistress. Especially if your getting stuff with tylonol or something in it. Also abuse can be dangerous if using mdma. Had some of the craziest trips on dxm to this date.

Also had a girl get seritonin syndrome because of combination with mdma. Scariest night an roll of my life.

No good! What happened to her?
 
DXM is just DXM, there is no kind of syrup that causes only euphoria, or only hallucinations, etc. There are some syrups that contain only DXM, some that contain DXM in time release forms, and some that contain other chemicals that can increase the amount of side effects.
 
She had no idea where she was an would say such random things like I just want off this swing.. couldnt focus could barely talk was shivering and shaking uncontrollably. She suffered extreme depression following this event and couldn't control her emotion for a while after.

It was a very scary and eye opening experience. She's all good now.

Also on a side note be ready to throw up or shit violently after drinking an entire bottle of cough syrup.

I never once experienced nausea, vomitting, or mud butt from DXM.
 
Personally, I prefer Coricidin, but as they also contain chlorpheniramine, I can't recommend them. For syrups, I prefer Robotussin Max Strength Cough. As said, make sure DXM is the only active ingredient. If that the case, all syrups feel the same, bar Delsym. Delsym contains DXM polisterix, not DXM HBr like the others. The polisterix is time-release, and with DXM this causes more conversion into DXO, which I find less recreational.

Depends on the formulation. Syrup most definitely can cause it. I didn't have any issues with the liqui gels but I didn't like the trip with those and I never had powder.

DXO is what causes most of the desired effects from DXM. DXM even in high doses is a very weak NMDA antagonist. DXO is 10x more potent as an NMDA antagonist and isn't serotonergic.

The problem with Delsym is related to how long the ion exchange process takes in the human body before the plastic releases the dextromethorphan molecule. It takes twice as much Delsym to get to the same place as HBr for most and it takes over 2 hours for the trip to kick in. This suggests it is actually slowing down the conversion to DXO, not speeding it up.

No Hospital trip?

Strange... I never suffered depression after it (MAOI & MDMA) probably cos I wasn't awake for three days

Honestly the only use I've ever found for DXM is as a mood enhancer at baseline levels. The trips seem to turn dark with almost no warning. Nasty stuff, IMO.
