So....people apparantly get crazy euphoria from oral opiates?

People normally pick there drug of choice by their personality.

Anxiety/Depressed/Shy people will often go for downers, empathogens and dissociatives

People who are hype and multifunctional and/or schizophrenic will often choose stimulants.

People who are often creative with out-of-the-box thinking often choose psychedelic drugs.

It's a broad world, some people fall in more than one category...

It is often experimentation that leads to people finding the right drug for them.

Opiates just seem to not be your cup of tea... LOL

i used to smoke heroin as well as sometimes shoot it(often with cocaine/"speedballing") and i get blissful euphoria from oral opiates.

however weaker ones like codeine, hydrocodone, and dihydrocodone don't have a very pronounced euphoria but oxycodone, oxymorphine, and morphine give me a great euphoric feeling(especially when mixed with alcohol and/or benzos).

oxycodone i find best oraly, while oxymorphine and morphine are stronger when snorted but still quite strong oral.

OP - Some people like drugs that are more stimulating while some people prefer drugs with a more pronounced sedative-like effect. Euphoria is subjective. My idea of euphoria is a complete feeling of well-being and relaxation due to a lack of worry about anything. Opiates diminish the pains of life and take you to a state of mind where nothing really matters. That's good enough for me. Don't get me wrong, I like amphetamines/cocaine also, I find euphoria in them also because they produce similar feelings, just with more stimulation.

Nah, I don't like feeling relaxed and sleepy. When I take opiates I get EUPHORIA - an incredible feeling of joy and exhilaration that seems to take over every part of my body. I want to run through the streets, shout how happy I feel from every roof top, and, of course, talk. Talk talk talk. The world feels perfect, and I feel like nothing will ever make me feel bad again.

I think euphoria is pretty universal. I got euphoria ONCE from a stimulant, and strangely it was when I popped two ritalin pills back when I was 15 years old. The ritalin euphoria was similar to the opiate euphoria - but the opiate still felt quite a bit better.

I am really jealous.

I started on Hydrocodone when I first started I loved it i got alot of euphoria now hydrocodone doesn't do much for my I moved to percocet and It did alot better I stoped using opiates and opioids I had used for about 4-5 years kinda alot.

I agree with whoever said the opiate high is not sleepy and relaxing. I hate feeling drowsy and relaxed, which I only experience on the comedown with opiates. The high itself is not drowsy so much as dreamy, with intense euphoria and a feeling of inner peace. Opiates make me feel more "loved up" than MDMA, and I actually feel pretty horny on them which is opposite of what most people report. :D

Stimulant/entactogen euphoria is equally great, but in a completely different way. It amazes me how many different types and degrees of euphoria there are!

I am feeling like I am missing out, even with this huge bottle of morphine tablets.

I am just about out of my fast acting oxycodone though.

People don't know what to look for. The euphoria isn't blasting you in the face like meth or mdma, it's more of a gentle natural feeling you have to slow down and realize the way your thinking has completely changed there is no negativity to your thoughts and everything is just so nice you learn to appreciate this buzz its amazing.

All I get from opiates (other than IV heroin, which is in a whole 'nother league) is a very mild relaxation, which can easily be confused with satisfaction, insomnia (especially with oral oxycodone), constipation, and sometimes the desire to do more. For example, watching the plunger of a syringe inject your veins with either morphine or heroin is quite reinforcing.
