I have been a lurker/poster on forums since i had a 14.4Kb modem, but BL seems to have a very strange ratio of Members to Guests, it's 1:10! anyone got some spaced out theories about this? or is it as simple as curiosity and anonymity?

I'd assume that the majority of people would rather lurk than participate. In fact, I didn't even make a BL account till I had a question to ask..

BL turns up on a lot of searches, and the many bluelighters who only sign on when they post. It signs you off pretty quickly, or used to, too. Many of the guests you see probably have an account.

i have no idea, there is no more appropriate place appropriate place afaik, but if it's a problem move it where you deem appropriate, i suppose it's a 'psychological analysis of statistics' but i didn't see any forums about psychology, most of that is covered in TDS, and that's no place for this

so many threads made by you! reason? ;)

BL is a drug forum, naturally people will be more concerned about anonymity and less likely to join and given the nature of what produces BL search results, a substantial amount of people merely want to find a little information or an answer to a question and not necessarily participate in discussion.

^I don't like to lurk, I'm pro-active and throw myself into things, often to my detriment, but it's a part of me I'd never change :)

yeah i suppose it comes down to anonymity.

I read BL infrequently for years, then frequently for a year before creating an account. Some people lurk a lot before getting actively involved, if ever.

For me it was nothing to do with anonymity (who the fuck's knockando?), rather I didn't have anything to ask or say, I found my answers just by reading. I also need time to judge the culture and spirit of a discussion board before posting, even then first posts are sometimes a bit hit-or-miss (I was accused of being a troll in my first week of posting! By Tambo IIRC.)

clicks on top link (a Bluelight thread)
establishes there is no heroin in their pills
closes browser; takes drugs
