RCs So i've been taking mephedrone for 8 days

I just thought this would be some good info for those wondering about mephedrone.

I recently obtained 5 grams of mephedrone and have been taking it for 8 days every day. Not staying up 8 days straight or doing it all day when i'm up but when i get home from work i do about 5-10 lines. It's hard to say how much i do because i also "give" it to other people.

The point of this thread is that i've been doing it for 8 days, quit for the past 2-3 days and have noticed no withdrawal symptoms. Maybe some slight cravings, but no real mental or physical withdrawals. As it stands i'm down to about a gram... so it's kind of hard to gauge how much i've done.

I really don't understand how a drug that feels that good doesn't have w/d effects like when you do coke or meth. Has anyone else had any withdrawal symptoms besides cravings?

So, even though this is an RC it seems fairly safe to do often (even though the effects seriously dwindle). The only thing you need to remember to do is eat some food.

If mods feel this should be moved/merged, by all means do so! I just thought i'd try to be helpful.

I can only comment that IME it is relatively benign. But that kind of use is over the top. I have not used it for at least a month or more because I found myself up for 24 hours.

And that was at least 60 times in about * months on my free time.

The irony is now that I don't use it I'm up all the time.

Plenty have gotten themselves pretty heavily addicted - Mephedrone Addiction - as in double-digit grams a day and all the associated acquisitive (and general) crime, violence and degradation that goes with such addictions too. But it takes a lot more than just 8 days of use to develop an addiction same as any other drug. Comedowns also get far worse with repeated use - that honeymoon period really does end sooner or later for virtually everyone. The long-term physical issues (cardio and probably also neurotoxicity) are also likely to be greatly worsened with heavy and/or regular use. Benign wonder drug it ain't.

I'm so surprised to hear this... i never really thought of the drug as something worth going out of my way for. Crime and violence... over mephedrone? Man... i guess different strokes for different folks definitely applies with this substance.

I cannot coment on any neurotox but I'm sure there a papers being written.

But then everyone said MDMA was dangerous in the 90s ?

If you live in the UK then it is no longer legal. And some reports indicate nearly 3 tons were used in about 18 -24 months (in the UK)

The toxicity risks are something that are still only strong suspicions and not likely to show up as definite symptoms for years yet if they do. Although there are some reports from Israel (where it first took off) of cardio issues starting to show up in some users already. Just cos something isn't immediately apparent doesn't mean it won't happen.

Same applies to the addiction and associated problems. You can use heroin for months - even years - without becoming addicted but at some point you cross a line and rather than just enjoying it and using it on your own terms it takes over and you are no longer in control. There's nothing special about meph that makes it any different from other rewarding (in terms of giving a big dopamine hit) drugs like coke or meth. It doesn't have a magical anti-addiction ingredient so therefore some people can and do become addicted. Buying a few grams here and there is no problem but could you afford a 20g a day habit without turning to crime? Nor can those who it happens to.

Shambles, eight days might be pushing it for mephedrone, but it certainly isn't that rare for someone to get hooked to something else in that time period.

I'm sure it's possible but I'd say it generally takes a while to develop a true addiction to just about anything. I used heroin daily for weeks on end and if I couldn't get any one day I'd fiend like crazy - climbing the walls - and even get light withdrawal symptoms but wouldn't have even considered stealing or anything like that to score. A year later that was no longer the case at all and I would do whatever it took (with some limits even so cos we all have our lines that we won't cross even then) cos I was truly addicted. Addiction is a progressive greyscale of escalating levels of dependency rather than a straight black or white issue, in my opinion.

I had a 10g bag last me about 2 weeks. I was doing it every 2-3 days, giving a lot out as well, but never dosing more than like 500mg each time. I did notice more depression/anxiety and worse comedowns each time though.

It does make you feel so awesome and have such a great time, but depleting dopamine that much isn't to good for your mood.

a very good friend of mine is totally hooked on the shit, so do watch out; plus the whole heart damage thing is worrying; id keep it very casual if i were you- i know its euphoric and cheap and fun but you are really playing the guinea (sp) pig with a barely tested substance. get some speed man; not meth though: whizz. i find meph comedowns the worst: the anxiety and fear is incomparable to an mdma comedown for me. be safe xxx

I got me 5 grams but haven't touched it. Don't want an upper while at home, saving it for a party or weekend out. Not even tempted to use it.

Like that sometimes, I'll hoard drugs, and save them for special occasions.

Always wanted to try it, which is why I got some, but I aint going to touch it on a working week! (but off soon :-) )

Any tips for a first timer... or I guess maybe a forum search would be better.

if mephedrone is something like coke or speed or whatever, i wouldn't expect any severe physical w/d stuff anyway besides fatigue, amotivation, etc. at least IME, addiction to those type things doesn't really have the physical w/d symptoms that come w/ daily opiate, benzo or even alcohol long-term. i'm not saying they're not adictive as hell--clearly they are--but i always felt it was more of a mental, craving, go crazy if u can't have it type of thing, not physical sickness.

btw, does mephedrone really have effects that could be compared to mdma? like it's more than just a straight upper high like coke or meth? mdma is great, but i generally don't have any interest in the other stuff w/out massive quantities of alcohol involved

The very first time i did a proper dose (intranasal of about 180mg) it was A LOT like taking 350mg MDMA, however it does have its own flavor in terms of effects. A noticeable difference is the lack of enhanced tactile senses. Touching people or yourself (or objects) isn't nearly as delightful on mephedrone as it is on MDMA. It also has less of an impact on your empathy towards others. And of course the serious time difference in the highs time duration. Oh, and you seem more... in control of your mind and actions than on strong MDMA.
However, this isn't to say the chemical doesn't have strongly enhanced tactile senses, potent empathetic effects, and extreme euphoria.

Comparing Mephedrone to MDMA is kind of like comparing wine to beer. Each get you drunk, but they have their own characteristics. Even then, they are still a stretch apart, MDMA is more like a roller-coaster you have to ride once started, Mephedrone is kind of like hopping on a motorcycle and having a blast while still maintaining some control. [I know i'm terrible with similes] The "crash" from mephedrone, as mentioned below, was MUCH nicer for me than MDMA which leaves you feeling just like a damn drained-out empty vessel the day after dosing.

As for comparing it to cocaine, there really is no comparison besides uplifted mood, depressed appetite, increased sociability, and extreme compulsive re-dosing. There is no numbness, infact insane burning, that lovable smell you get from each bump/line of coke doesn't exist for meph, and the onset of mephedrones effects take longer to kick in than cocaines instant "Ahhhh:)" feeling from each delicious bump. It's kind of hard to say which has worse fiending... i'm really at crossroads over that dispute.

And, to me, there is no comparison between mephedrone and ritalin/concerta (methylphenidate), adderall (dexamp), or crystal meth. I hate amps now because of the horrible comedown, the nasty jittery twacked all over the place feeling from them. I used to do a lot of meth, i can only compare mephedrone to meth in that when you smoke meth you get that rush from that first hit from not doing any for a long time, mephedrone is like that constantly until you comedown and no bullshit tweaking, just love love love and re-dosing. And for me, there was no real "crash" on mephedrone like in amps (esp. crystal meth), you just gradually come back down to normal.

Anyway, hopefully this question wasn't posted too long ago, i've been offline for sometime now and am a bit out of date on things BL.

Sorry for rambling or run-on sentences too, it's been a while since i posted on any forum boards.

Yes be careful..............I have been taking this one a few times a week for long while now....can be very addictive in nature, tust me. I'm in the US as well as you are, and just tonight on the crappy TV show "Blue Blood" they featured mcat as a dangerous new narcotic that a kid was selling at school and got off the internet......don't expect it to go unnoticed.
