so im aquiring some halcion

Anyone tried this - if so does it have any recreational value? It is a triazolo benzo like xanax so I would think it would be similar - im not really using it to go to sleep though. What does it compare to if you have tried it.
 
Another study not published by UpJohn found 12.2% of triazolam patients dropped out, again due to psychiatric adverse effects compared against 4.1% for flurazepam. A further study found that after only 3 weeks use of triazolam patients typically became markedly anxious. As a result of these studies, both published and unpublished, coming to light showing frequent severe psychiatric disturbances the United Kingdom and Brazil decided to ban triazolam.

Looks like its only really good for aiding insomnia, and even then it has some pretty shitty side effects.

Use it at your own discretion.
 
I was prescribed it for a month. It isn't really something good to take during the day for recreational purposes. At least I wouldn't. It works good as a sleep aid, it knocks you out real quick because it kicks in really fast, sort of like alprazolam. Another similarity to alprazolam is that it has a very short duration so you have a short period of time to fall asleep. It doesn't have much of the muscle relaxant or anxiolytic properties like the majority of the other benzodiazepines. Like I said though, its a good sleep aid but not much recreational value. You may feel good for a little bit before going to sleep.
 
it feels so much like xanax. but it is even stronger, kicks in even faster, and is over even quicker. it's great once you get your dose right, but the first few times you will either just fall asleep or think it was too weak. it is best in many, small doses through the day, given how strong it is and how short its duration is.
 
If you are referring to the hypnotic effects, yes Halcion feels stronger. I don't think that it feels anything like Xanax but you may have because they both are triazolo benzodiazepines. All Triazolo benzodiazepines kick in quick, have a short duration and minimal doses are needed to produce the general benzodiazepine effects. As for dosage potency, Xanax and Halcion are equivalent. There are some nasty side effects that come with Halcion including INCREASED anxiety in some when used for short periods of time like even a month. It also has been shown to produce psychosis in people who have pre-existing mental problems. This is why it is very rarely prescribed, not because its "too" strong.

Halcion has very minimal anxiolytic and muscle relaxant effects. It is a strong hypnotic though. I have no idea why you would ever use this drug throughout the day for recreation. Its not very euphoric and just makes you incredibly tired.

benzo preference is one of the most subjective things in the prescription drug world...

negative, ghost rider. halcion is at least twice as strong as xanax mg per mg. i'd say even stronger in higher doses.
 
I got some precribed a long time ago as a temp sleep aid.

Was spending lot's of times in hotels with me job.

It defo works as a sleep aid.

The next time I asked, the same doctor would not give it to me.

He's a wise old bugger, so I reckon it may have some recreational value.

It's probably a try and stay awake job, then maybe mild hullicinations.
 
IMHO halcion is amazing for sleep but nothing to write home about for recreational use. yes, benzos are very subjective depending on the individual., so perhaps youll love it. if you have insomnia, youll love it for the mere fact that youre out like a light and it feels (to me) way stronger than ambien. i have to assume though, that online reports say long term use can lead to pretty bad daytime anxiety because it is so short acting that you essentially w/d every day if youre unfortunate enough to have become dependent on it. start low, go slow and dont add anything to the mix (like alcohol or opiates) until youre confident in its effects. be safe.

You've been reading all the charts that were produced many, many years ago.. hydroazuanacaine you should read also.

I guess you've never read the most recently upated and adequate chart that is on the net, go ahead, check it out www.benzo.org.uk Just check to the left of the site. This website isn't outdated and one useless page. There are more than 1000 pages of articles, info, references and everything else. Oh yeah, it was also started up by the professor who came up with the Valium taper.

Oh yeah, the old charts that you've read also list Clonazepam as the most potent benzodiazepine 8)

forget the charts. if you've taken both, you'd have to be damn stubborn to say that xanax is anywhere close to as strong as halcion, mg for mg.
 
I love halcion. I usually just fall asleep w xanax. but i get more fucked up, and i do find it twice as strong as xanax (but maybe because I a little more accustomed to xanax). I think there is recreational value and I dont see euphoria in benzos typically.
 
Haven't come across it but from reading The Heroin Diaries it's supposed to have an interesting though paralysing effect if mixed with cocaine. Whether this is very safe wasn't mentioned.
 
Halcion is probably my favorite benzo - I only took it once but when I did it was like a more active version of xanax that had me very entranced into what I was doing, followed 1 hour later by a kick that almost put me to sleep. I stayed awake for the most part, but when I did sleep it was awesome. Would love to find again.

I have taken both and I'd say all in all that Xanax is in fact the stronger one. That is from my experience and my opinion. Halcion is greatly superior for sleep, sure, but it is weaker in all other ways compared to Xanax. I think Halcion is a great sleep aid but nothing recreational.
