So, i want to go shroom hunting.

Any tips? I know these kinds grow in my area.

Illinois
Gymnopilus sp.
Panaeolus cinctulus
Pluteus salicinus

What kind of conditions would they grow in? And what do they look like? Is there any disctinctive features? Thank you.
 
Be fucking careful what you eat. Just because it blues doesn't mean it's magic.

I find a lot underneath low hanging trees that have lots of leaves & brush at the bottom, usually after it rains.
 
I've been wanting to do this for so fucking long, but my desires cannot outweigh the thought of going into the hospital having eaten an unidentified (properly by me) mushroom only to find they don't stock the particular antidote needed or something. haha I need to get some books on the subject, northern California is a gold mine for wild mushies(magic and non).
 
Thanks guys, im definatley going to look up pictures first. Like you sticky, im deathly afraid of eating the wrong shroom.
 
Eating wild mushrooms isn't as dangerous as everyone makes it out to seem. That being said, you should definitely know how to identify what you are looking for, and know how to identify their lookalikes. There really are only a few mushrooms out there that will kill you, but there are several, several, several that will make you wish you were dead for a while.
 
Thanks for the support guys. Hopefully it rains tomorrow, ill be going searching on saturday so ill let you all know how that goes. Trying to balance math homework and shroom research, very tough. How common do you think shroom hunting is? There is a little dirt path in the woods where im going, but there are also areas that have absolutley no traffic. Theres a creek nearby as well, since moisture is a contributing factor, do you think ill be more likley to find shrooms by the water?
 
Done with research, multiple pictures and facts, and look alikes saved on my phone. ill post the pics on here when (if) i get my bounty. I cant wait to go shroom picking, might even go as early as tomorrow afternoon.
 
Pls be careful kipo it's actually called psilocybe semianceati little 3"-4" high,they have a pronuced nipple,when wet their a dark brown( can be a right pain to find) the best time to find them is just after a few days rain,then they should stick up at you.

^ but just like weed, no outdoor is gonna top some real professionally grown indo'. I'm talking like those shrooms that are 8 or 9g on their own.

wood loves are better, and harder to grow indoor than cubes, natures bounty wins anyday imo
 
Lol only cuz you can't grow :P sounds like some hippie hogwash.

Not to say wild growing shit isn't cool, but what really beats eating some shrooms or smoking some DMT grown/made by yourself/a close friend?

growing shrooms is childs play, it is a fact that most woodlovers are stronger than indoor grown cubes

And it's also a fact that it adds a lil something to the trip when you're friends with the person who grew what you're trippin' on. Or maybe you don't have those kinds of connects.

C'mon guys, no need to argue. I was planning on going yesterday, but it rained. I was kinda pissed at the time but i knew it would lead to a better bounty. Im going within the next few hours, ill make sure to post pics before i take any. Lets hope the shroom gods have mercy on me today.
 
Kipo just come on down to ole sunny florida and we will take a trip in the cow feilds here..Very rewarding in FL.....
