Alright, I had no knowledge on this stuff besides the fact that it was a major component in meth manufacturing and that it is often found as an additive ingredient in cold medications.
I also am aware that here (In the US) that the Gov took pure Pseudophedrine off the shelves as an OTC a long time ago... and that to get it now you basically need a prescription and tons of carefully logged information.
Anyways, I have to finish a good deal of writing and I'm pretty tired, but I don't have a choice - deadlines are deadlines. I am also a curious type about drugs... I also woke up with a small cold/runny nose so I was looking in my bathroom and found these 60mg Pseudophedrine HCL/ 2.5 mg Triprolidine HLC pills. The expiration date dates back to 2001... so it makes sense, my parents probably bought them for a bad cold and just let them sit there.
I was curious so I started looking some stuff up online, and found it interesting. I had no idea it could be a stimulant by itself. There seemed to be a mix of reviews - some people thought it gave them great energy and focus (compared to caffeine), and was the closest to having the effects of an amphetamine basically, just not nearly as strong of course and without the euphoria.
I took a single 60mg (less is more... you can always take more, the most important thing I've learned about experimenting with drugs) it about an hour ago now and I think I am actually starting to feel the effects. I am starting to feel slightly speedy, like as if I just took like 5 espresso shots in a row.... I am not expecting anything else.
In anticipation of responses - don't bother telling me to "find a real drug" or whatever. I can obtain Adderall (through friends), and of course it is the ultimate drug for writing/focusing but I experience such horrible crashes and side effects that last up to days, that I made a deal with my self to stay away from it, at least for a month or so. I am just trying to do things sober/caffeine (and well today, Pseudophedrine)
So am I pretty much on point about all this? I definitely don't feel like I need/should take anymore, but I find it interesting that this pill intended to help your cold symptoms, is making me feel so wired/speedy.
Some questions
- Is it a bad idea to take this with caffeine? I had a cup of earl grey tea... but that's nothing. I was thinking like a 100mg of a regular caffeine caplet? Or will that probably synergize badly.
-I read that a side effect is jitteryness/anxiety which I am starting to feel a bit. I also already have an anxiety problem (I take 3 x 2mg Xanax XR a day). I am also prescribed some Vallium (I'm trying to get off Xanax slowly). Would it be a good combo to take like 20 or 30mg of Vallium (I have an extremely high tolerance to benzos, won't make me tired at all) with this Pseudophedrine/Cafeine combo? (In terms of focusing/energy)
Thank you!
