Thanks! I try to be the best friend that i can be. And her and I both love gaga to pieces! She was so inspirational and cute at her concert. Especially with the lovey dovey-ness of the E haha.

lady gaga burns my biscuits. the epitome of the horrible wannabe techno/rap music that the kids are bangin these days

Agreed. It's not real music. Not like pearl jam, nirvana, chili peppers, jeff buckley etc etc...

And she writes her own lyrics hey?

"gaa gaa oooh laah laah..."

i rest my case.

'Real music' would be personal opinion. You didn't even name bands/artists in the same genre. If I want to dance and sing and go crazy, I'm probably going to do that to Lady Gaga over pearl jam or nirvana..

yeah true, okay lets say pendulum, empire of the sun, tiesto, air, etc..

im saying it doesnt seem to have the literary essence other stuff does.

To be a stuffy ass and quote myself, I mentioned earlier in the thread that she admits to writing what she refers to as "soulless electronic pop". I think it's the sort of music you're supposed to take at face value. For what it is, it's pretty catchy (in my opinion).

Many of her songs have deep meaning and emotion behind them. I've always loved her music, but after seeing her live in front of me... damn she is THE shit in my book haha.

I wanna know what these meaningful lyrics are - I'm totally curious now - even though this is really a 'to each their own' thing.

And i dont hate the girl, i've never turned her off my tv, though i just think it's this face value music that's getting too much attention these days. It's more of an entertainment performance than an artistic/entertainment performance.. if you know what i mean. Like a poet as opposed to a juggling act on stage.

Anyway, if it makes people happy (esp record producers...) then why not... i guess...

Her lyrics might not having meaning specifically to you, but as a big gaga fan i know a lot about her and her music and she just like many writers puts meaning or experiences into her lyrics. And even if they don't mean anything, they're definitely fun lyrics to me.

Haven't you ever heard of the term, mainstream? That's what she went for and that's what she is successful in. Mainstream dance. I don't usually listen to any mainstream music for the most part, but Gaga did it right.

Yeah I dont debate that at all, she sells records, people obviously love it.

I want to know these lyrics though. Educate me baby

haha you're crazy :p

some of her songs talk about the fear of love, death, loneliness, fear of alcohol, fame, and many other themes.
