I'd assume nicotine discussion goes here ...

Anyway, anyone else on her obsessed with (or just use) snus?

I absolutely love it.
Getting nicotine without spitting or smoking has changed my life. (I still smoke 1.5 packs a day, but with snus)

I also sleep with it in and find it nearly impossible to sleep without it.

You can reach some great feeling with snus + cigs + bupe/opiates/any drug that goes well with nicotine.

Any fellow snussers out there?
What brands/flavors/portion type do you prefer?

I normally use General, white portion, mint or wintergreen/wintermint flavors-- although I'll occasionally use non-mint flavors.

Well anyway I highly recommend to any opiate users. Great for nodding without burning down the house.

But the real Swedish snus, not that american garbage that doesn't give you a buzz.

Don't particularly understand why snus is illegal in the UK and most of the EU. Odd decision, those who've tried it seem to enjoy it.

I also sleep with it. I find it alarmingly addictive, but love not smoking cigarettes.

American snus has been getting better recently. Skoal keeps reformulating theirs and it keeps getting better. General is still the best, but difficult to find. Definitely useful during the nods.

Not a big fan of it but when I was still in highschool and high on painkillers it was a definite life saver since I couldn't smoke cigs lol.

Yeah, the Skoal is decent as it actually gives you some nicotine (even if it's not much).
But it's also not pasteurized or made to the same standards so it doesn't have the same health effects.

After doing the real stuff I can never do the american kind again.

Never tried the snus , but in my yrs. of commercial fishing I found that snuf is used quite a bit in Alaska - most all bars have mccrystals brand on hand and I was pretty fond of it for a few yrs. - down here in the states thou you get some weird looks taking a snort up the nose .....
We called it " the brown boog " - you could blow brown boogers out for days after using that stuff ; )

Now that ya' got me thinking about it , Ima have to find me some ......

With my job, I have alot of contact with territory managers from the big tobacco companies, I was surprised when I learned SNUS was just regular dip/ snuff with basically dairy creamer added to it, when it first came out, it had to be refrigerated, but now, they created a new type of 'dairy creamer' that does not require refrigeration.

And that's why you don't do american "snus".
It's bullshit.
This thread is about real snus, not fake snus.

The real Swedish stuff however is amazing.

Refrigeration has nothing to do with cream, as real snus does not have cream in it. I mean, the ingredients are listed right there on the tin. It just helps it stay fresh and it is more satisfying when it's cold.

Really pisses me of that when people think "snus" they think of fake snus.

Seriously so fucked up from Snus right now... Just gotta post here.

Took the sub and butalbital, put in like 5 grams and smoked a few cigs and I'm floooored

No snus, not even American has cream added. Cream, being dairy, is an allergen, and would be required to include that allergen information. Pretty sure it's not an approved additive either...

I've been using snus for about a year or so now, since I started at a job where I can't smoke. I tried gum and e-cigs, but they just aren't the same as proper tobacco. Pipe tobacco in a weed vaporizer does work nicely, but weed vaporizers don't tend to be that discrete and the taste takes some getting used to (though 'cause vapor tastes more like fresh plant matter, the taste is much more tolerable now that I'm used to snus). So yeah, if you wan't to give up smoking but enjoy tobacco too much, snus is a good choice.

Don't particularly understand why snus is illegal in the UK and most of the EU. Odd decision, those who've tried it seem to enjoy it.
It's not exactly illegal here. It is illegal to buy or sell within the EU (except Sweden) but may be exported/imported to/from outside the EU. So you can get it here but the choice of brands is somewhat limited as there are only two or three vendors I know of with warehouses outside the EU. I think the law has something to do with how snus is classified as a food product in Sweden (hence the mandatory quality control and ingredients list) rather than a tobacco product. If someone repackaged snus and branded it as chewing tobacco, I'm pretty sure it'd be fine to trade in the EU, except that it would then be subject to normal tobacco duty/taxes.

Snus as in same as the pouches? I never got anything from that but I love to pack a fat lipper of some Copenhagen long cut.

Yeah, that's the stuff - like little tobacco tea bags. You can get loose stuff too, which is cheaper by quite a long way but there's a knack to using it - I always end up dribbling tobacco all over the place when I try using the loose stuff :P

Snus as in spitless, pasteurized, non fermented tobacco. There's a lot of stuff in pouches that is not snus. I have only used the American varieties, but I very much like skoal smooth mint. There's not enough nicotine, though. To get a decent buzz I've gotta put four pouches in my cheeks, ffs.

Camel large size is the same way. For the price it's not really reasonable. 15/4=3 uses and three left sitting around. Camel large is like 7 bucks a tin.

The skoal is only four something, but even still, a can should last more than a day.

The feeling of an opiate kicking in at the same time as a nice nic buzz is pretty amazing.

I've never tried any American snus. How wet/dry are the portions? Most Swedish brands come in three different forms: loose, regular/original portion and white portion. The fact that you need to use several portions at once makes me think the American brands (or at least those you've tried) must be like the white portions which are much dryer and are effectively like a slow release version of snus (i.e. longer lasting but weaker). One of those will easily last me from morning (9am) to midday at work, but only if I have a smoke just before I go in, 'cause otherwise it takes too long for the white portions to kick in. Original portions, on the other hand, are pretty soggy and those lovely noccotine juices start flowing almost immediately. They're far stronger than the white portions, but don't last anywhere near as long. Although I much preferred the original portions at first, I now use white ones most of the time because the original portions jacked my tolerance right up and I'd need four or so a day instead of just two.

Yes and no.
Snus is not the same as dip pouches.

The fact that you got nothing from it leads me to believe you bought american "snus" which is just dip that doesn't give you a buzz.
Not sure where you're located, but if in the U.S. get the brand "General", that's the only real snus you can buy in stores in North America, or go online and import some shit from Sweden.

But yeah, get the real stuff and you will get a buzz just lime your Copenhagen, but in a more healthy and better tasting way.

Oh man, you really gotta get the real stuff.
They sell the "general" brand in stores at least in Michigan. You can go on website to find which stores near you sell it.

The one pouch of General has the same buzz as 3-4 pouches of the Skoal "Snus", or 7-8 camel.
And you get double the pouches in each tin.
And it's cheaper.
Lol.

And damn, 7 bucks for that trash?
Where do you live?
In Michigan camel/Skoal is 4 bucks.
General is 2 bucks, and you get 24 in a tin for an actual quality product.

The American stuff us a ripoff, get the real deal. Put in 2-4 pouches of general coming up on opiates and you will seriously thank me.

Firstly, american snus isn't even real snus-- and it's extremely dry and uncomfortable, and hardly has any nicotine.
It's basically bullshit, so don't waste your time if you were thinking about trying it.

Secondly, I prefer white portion snus. Although idk where you live, but most of the Swedish snus available from vendors in the US is white portion.
There are like two original portion, and one loose here-- the rest are white.
