opiate pimples?!
I have noticed an obvious pattern. If I use an opiate or a synthetic opiate, I develop these gigantic nodules very deep feeling below my skin surface, like a huge pimple without a head on it, but they itch and I fidget with them because the pressure and irritation they cause under my skin. They always show up within a few days of adjusting to a new dose of opiate. I did some research about this and I did discover that it can be a common reaction, but it is NOT an allergy. What I learned was that opiates and synthetic opiates release histamine within mast cells. This is an immune system response, however, it was emphasized by several MDs that it is NOT an allergic reaction, simply a histamine release. I thought that histamine release WAS an allergic reaction, but theysay its not. I'm kinda confused about it because during my efforts to treat this symptom, I was told by a dermatologist that any antihistamine would block this side effect from occirring. Well.... it didn't work at all after several attempts of using Vistaril, Phenergan, and finally Benadryl. None of them blocked it enough I suppose because I kept on getting htese huge welt like pimples that I would mess with until they even bled and crusted over. I know, it does seem disgusting, but it is what it is. Okay... Has anyone ever experienced these [opiate pimples" ????
[/SIZE]They are different than a normal zit, they grow slowly and deep. My theory is that they are a type of mild allergic RX because over time as I continued my course of opioid treatment, even with the Suboxone, I developed a resistanse to them, because the longer I was medicated, as I am now, they eventually disappeared. Has anyone ever had such an experience? And if so, please reply, because I don't think I have a clear answer. All I do know is that it is a fact that opiates and synths alike do increase the amount of histamine, which makes sense for the "ITCHY NOSE" also. Eventually, the itchy nose might even grow a tolerance and go away too. I can deal with the "ITHCY NOSE" but I hate the humingaziod zits that used to always show up in the same areas, on the face in the center of my forehead, or on my chin. I am feeling Noddy. LOL! Need to get some sweet night zzzzzzzz's. nighty-night, pals. And Happy Valentine's Day!
