Snorting oxy 5 mg - teeth hurt after blowing nose?

Alright, so my boyfriend had major reconstructive surgery on his face and was prescribed 5 mg Oxys (small white pill with M printed on one side.) Every once in a while I'll indulge in a 30 here or there, but nothing too major. I definitely have somewhat of a tolerance though. I usually snort around 10 mg at a time and feel a slight rush and euphoria for about an hour and a half. He gave me 3 to snort and I did them all. (very uncomfortable, a shit load of fillers) Beside the temporary uncomfortable, irritating feeling in my nose, it wasn't all that bad. I got a slight euphoria from 15 mg, however, it didn't last very long. This was 2 days ago. Since then, I notice that every time I blow my nose my teeth tend to feel super sensitive and hurt for a few seconds.

I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar feeling/know anything about what I am referring too.

I'm sure it's nothing, but if anything I'm just curious as to what the hell this is!

It could be from anything. Honestly, I think it's just you're mind connecting imaginary dots. Even if it was from the pill, I'd imagine it would be from the fillers somehow but even then the after effects would be gone by now. I'd write it off as just one of those things you can't explain. Also, I'd get my teeth checked if they were hurting when I blew my nose, lol.
 
Haha well I know that my teeth are perfectly fine! I get them checked very regularly. Who knows... it could even be the weather or something as it is just beginning to get cold here. I've just never really experienced anything like this. Thank you for the quick reply!
 
No problem.

Sometimes when we take a chemical, and have weird effects a day or two later we right away think it's from the chemical, when really it could be anything our body is dealing with. Take into considering everything, not just the use of said chemical. I know a lot of people who use psychedelics feel it affects them for months after, when really I believe it's just our mind convincing itself that it's a lasting effect. Placebo, if you will.

J.Wallace: I get what you are saying, being an avid LSD user, but oxycodone is not a psychedelic and I don't think what you are saying relates. It might not have anything to do with the oxy, but it's clearly not all in my mind. I know I'm not just imagining that my teeth are hurting, as opposed to imagining that I'm a different person after taking LSD. Make sense?

Absolutely. The two are different experiences, but I think the idea relates in that it could just be you're mind playing tricks on you, in this case thinking it's the Oxy causing the pain. Though it's not unreasonable to think this.

Hope you feel better, sincerely! I've never personally experienced this sensation after doing Oxy. It could be anything, really! But if you feel the pain getting worse, or it doesn't subside, see you're doctor. Never shrug it off, you never know...might be something serious. I wouldn't worry too much though, even if it was from an allergic reaction or something of the sort, it's only a few MG's, won't cause you any serious harm.
 
Good answers here so far, but it sounds to me like you should probably stop snorting oxycodone pills. The oral BA is higher anyway.

It could be that your teeth are overly sensitive or something along those lines. Just a guess, though.
 
Well you have sinuses just above and behind your teeth, there's a chance that a little of the powder made it's way into the cavities. I know when I snort something irritating, my teeth always hurt the next day. It shouldn't be too big of a problem, just make sure you keep a close eye on it so as not to get a sinus infection.
 
The only thing I can think of is your body is already dependant, and you are going through withdrawls, it can feel as if every bone in your body ( including teeth) is far too heavy and aches like mad. Otherwise, i think it might be something else entirely.
 
I'd advise that you discontinue insufflating these 5mg. Oxycodone pills. I understand that it might be "fun"; however, snorting pills with these inactive binders and fillers are detrimental to your mucous membrane. If you decide to continue insufflating these pills, I'd advise you look into utilizing an enema for your nose. Dilute the pill in water and snort using a needleless syringe.

You risk diminished duration and effects with your ROA-- although the plasma concentration is greater; I'd advise changing to oral on an empty stomach.

You may want to invest in a toothpaste such as Sensodyne which has K and FL ions to desensitize your teeth.

True... but you do get a bit of rush putting it up your nose... especially combined with Mandy or coke or something. Even if you do have to redose. Is there any way to separate the fillers I wonder... something like filtering a solution and drying the resulting liquid???

Like I said, "fun." But I wouldn't destroy my nose for a low dose 5mg. oxycodone pill. 8)

If you had a lot of these pills then yes you could filter out the oxycodone from the binders.

Nope. I mean, you could do some sort of ghetto extraction process but you'll lose a bunch of the oxycodone in the process. Not to mention it really isn't worth the trouble.

To the OP, seriously quit snorting the pills if you're having even the slightest issue from doing so. If you continue you might find your slight toothache turns into something much less pleasant to deal with. Your nasal passages are extremely sensitive, finely tuned machines and all the binders and fillers that come in each pill (5 milligrams is an extremely small amount of anything, so you can imagine just how much of each pill is inactive material) can do serious damage.

You get more efficacy out of each pill by taking it orally(60-80% bioavailability) anyway, as the nasal BA is around 50%. I really see absolutely no reason you should keep insufflating the pills.
