Hey guys. Im new here but have been lurking around for the past two years. Ive looked through the search engine and I saw a few threads I just wanna see what you guys have to say about this. Ive been addicted to opiates for 4 years(Oxycodone mainly) and occasional heroin, opana or hydros if I cant find roxys. I started to feel really ill about 2 years into my addiction, I lost about 20lbs and I always felt like I was on the verge of collapsing occasionally and had alot of trouble breathing. I blacked out partially a few times after standing up to fast, I almost fell and hit my head on my counter but luckily I came to at the last second. I brushed it off and just attributed it to opiate use because everytime I did opiates I felt relieved of all my symptoms, the only time I felt bad was when I had no opiates but I just assumed it was wd because alot of the symptoms are similar. This went on for about a month and I finally decided to go to the doctor and I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I thought it was odd because I had no cough at all. I feel like theres definitely more damage done to the lungs then people think when it comes to snorting opiates regularly. I noticed a direct correlation between my dosage and the shitty feeling in my lungs. I felt fine for the first 2 years when I was snorting 30-60mg of oxy a day but as soon as I started to get out of control(6-10 30mg roxies a day) my lungs have felt progressively worse ever since then. Ive read about a few celebrity deaths from drug overdoses(corey haim, brittney murphy, jeff conaway) and they all had pneumonia at the time of overdose. The combination of lowered respiratory function from opiates plus weakend immune system from pneumonia can cause serious complications Heres an article I found on the subject. Thanks for your time guys!
