Hey guys. Im new here but have been lurking around for the past two years. Ive looked through the search engine and I saw a few threads I just wanna see what you guys have to say about this. Ive been addicted to opiates for 4 years(Oxycodone mainly) and occasional heroin, opana or hydros if I cant find roxys. I started to feel really ill about 2 years into my addiction, I lost about 20lbs and I always felt like I was on the verge of collapsing occasionally and had alot of trouble breathing. I blacked out partially a few times after standing up to fast, I almost fell and hit my head on my counter but luckily I came to at the last second. I brushed it off and just attributed it to opiate use because everytime I did opiates I felt relieved of all my symptoms, the only time I felt bad was when I had no opiates but I just assumed it was wd because alot of the symptoms are similar. This went on for about a month and I finally decided to go to the doctor and I was diagnosed with pneumonia. I thought it was odd because I had no cough at all. I feel like theres definitely more damage done to the lungs then people think when it comes to snorting opiates regularly. I noticed a direct correlation between my dosage and the shitty feeling in my lungs. I felt fine for the first 2 years when I was snorting 30-60mg of oxy a day but as soon as I started to get out of control(6-10 30mg roxies a day) my lungs have felt progressively worse ever since then. Ive read about a few celebrity deaths from drug overdoses(corey haim, brittney murphy, jeff conaway) and they all had pneumonia at the time of overdose. The combination of lowered respiratory function from opiates plus weakend immune system from pneumonia can cause serious complications Heres an article I found on the subject. Thanks for your time guys!

Snorting doesn't have to involve your lungs. You can do it without a single particle getting past your throat.

One method is the bendy straw method. The air / powder goes through the straw, into one nostril, and out the other, not into your lungs.

Another one uses your mouth for suction, not your lungs. [Shameless plug] See my thread for the details.[/Shameless plug]

Don't forget you're snorting a lot of non-water-soluble binders and fillers whenever you snort pills. It's generally a terrible idea.
Have you tried plugging? Better ROA...

+1.

also need to remember the cns depression..
opiates depress respiration..whether insufflated or not..
which can lead to several different pulmonary complications,
pneumonia included.
if you're coming down with some kind of respiratory virus..
and your breathing is slow/shallow..you're now unable
to keep your airways clear and working properly..increasing
the severity of symptoms and making it much more difficult
for your immune system to fight..

I just started to plug my subutex for the faster onset and to prevent damage to my sinuses/lungs. I try to avoid intranasally consuming pharmaceuticals and really drugs in general if I can help it, which I can almost always.

I think the key here is not allowing the contents of your nose and any other stuff besides air to get in there.

Simple and seemingly obvious you may think, but i have an issue with meth with random nasal contents and fluids to run down there freely after taking a new dose and getting distracted be some task allowing your heavy and fast breathing free reign, i always end up with a cough and chest annoyance, and im sure inhaling all that meth is not good either, but hey, it might improve that BA figure so lets not focus on only the negatives.

Also i was fine with cut drugs like coke, clogs in there and minimizes backdrop. Fucking crystal burns and cuts like glass and then rubs it in by instantly disolving an running out, most of it likely now and oral dose (and perhaps some lung dose? Anybody know the BA for this?)

Anyways with you DOC i can see how random moments of falling comatose and an overall disinterest in dealing with these concerns could be a problem, near food, liquids, idiot friends, bugs, could cause all sorts of things to get in there, least concerning of all your doc and nasal fluids.
