Snort Heroin, finally went Needle. INFO

I snorted heroin off and on for 3 months. Then quit for a month.
I resumed and been snorting for like 9 months almost a year.
Snorted before work and in my car during lunch hour.

So now I went to needle in fear perma fucking my nose up.
Ive been using needle for almost 2 weeks now.

It felt dirty. I felt like this is what homeless do because they dont have anything to live for, so they pump it in there arm because its cheaper and etc etc.

Well I had someone hit me my first time, after that I bought a 10 pak of syringes and just went at it.

Ok I cant go out of my room without a shirt because I have marks and shit on my arms and chest. Its not missing that can mess it up (duh of course it will make a huge bump if you miss)
but even when I hit and register I still have all kinds of shit like green reddish spots and red dots where I hit. Also from the misses I did do (ITS VERY HARD TO PROPERLY HIT WHEN YOUR NEW).
You need practice and from failures you get bumps and marks and spots and its obvious you did something to yourself if someone saw me shirtless.

That all said, I continued and I get higher then I ever been. I now understand why people always want a small coke mixed with there heroin. The so called real "speedball" is super ephoric and you act super nice and I was impressed with how it works.
I am 25 and never thought I would use a needle.

Once you start and begin to know your own body and doses and such, you realise your playing with your life.
I use very sterile equipment, wash hands, new paper towels and first aid cream applyed after I hit.
You are putting stuff from the street right into your heart. I once didt use the cotton filter (it was old so it didt filter good) and I saw all the floating pieces in the syringe. Those could EASY block your vains and get a heart attack. And there is a new event called a rush.

I would say a rush is like a peak on MDMA for example, where the drugs are producing the max effects. The rush feels like you peak on what you use right when you hit, so the peak is within moments of the drug into your blood stream.
It produces max effects, for a few min and then they trail down from that point. I can now see how people OD so much, the rush is like you poped E and in another moment your rolling balls peaking. Then slowly you feel the E less and less, as I said before.
I just wanted to try to detail this because the rush is over rated and the fact its instant from sober to peaking, and thats what a rush is in my experience.

I plan to get methadone and other meds and quit the needle altogether. This way of life is not sustainable for a long period.
9 months from now at this rate I would probably have infections and look disgusting, along with being unhealthy from collapsing veins. You dont want food, and its impossible to take a shit after a shot.

This guy used daily and he died a few months ago from colin cancer that spread to his stomach. He would rather buy 10$ heroin bag instead of getting food.
He would shit every other day, or depends and the toxins built up and his diet was just junk food or fast food. He died at 55.
My dad is 53. Im sure hes gonna live for at LEAST another 10 years.

This guy who died btw, he had every pharm drug you could ever want or name. Including methadone. And he would always prefer to buy heroin instead.

This is one of the most stupid mistakes I ever made. I think my nose is recovering slowly but its really screwed. I rarely sneeze.
I dont get runny noses. You take for granted being able to hock a loogie, and I had to stop putting drugs in my nose because I was sure I would get a disease if I continued.

I will perma stop using all drugs except meds and weed and not touch a needle again. I will update with how the withdraws differ then when snorting. Im sure worse. Thanks for reading, you guys got any advice or what you think of the situation?

Anyone on the needle for longer then 6 months and regret it?
Btw - I never increased my doses when I switched, so im not obbsessed with it. Im sure tho if I increased my dose, I wouldnt want to quit. And fuck that, right? Im in control !!

stop now, is the only advice i have. and when you can't, just do the same shit we all do over and over and over.

[i remember when i was in your position; almost exactly 11 years ago to the day i started using heroin IV (which eventually led me to methadone, which led me to my IV coke habit....because after a while, you get so that if you have to go a day without sticking a needle full of poison into your poor, fucked-up body you think the world's gonna end.) here's what you have to look forward to: ODs w/ and w/o paramedics/narcan/AED etc, cellulitis, sepsis, infection x (x being pretty much anything you get within 20 feet of), dopesickness....it just goes on and on. and i didn't even get into the social and familial repercussions.]

well, even if the rest of your life is gonna be a living hell, these first few months when you still have both veins, friends, and a bank account, are fun as hell. rip it up, buddy.

First, youre playing on so many stereotypes. Ive been doing heroin for over 3 years and if you seen me you wouldnt be able to tell. Ive been skinny my whole life, so its not like I lost any weight. I maintained my appearance so much that when I was at the worst point in my addiction, you wouldnt be able to tell I used drugs. Also, just because that dude chose heroin over food does not mean that is how every heroin user is. A lot are like that, but a lot also are able to maintain ordinary and functional lives.

Definitley look into methadone or bupe.

Your nose isnt damaged. People have snorted coke for longer times than that and didnt have any damage to there noses, so Im sure yours is ok too. Get it checked out if you are really concerned. I snorted heroin for 2 years though and my nose is fine.

Do I regret using a needle? Not at all. Ive learned a lot about how life works and how my life needs to work because of it. Ive learned to appreciate things Id normally take for granted. I have a respect for how bad someones life can be, and am now very happy that mine is very good, even though I used to think it sucked. I wouldnt trade anything for all the time I was using heroin. Id be miserable now if I wasnt miserable then.

^^The OP said they'd been using for a year, only 2 weeks on the needle. I think thats long enough to get put on methadone or bupe.

I forgott is right, you are definitely full of stereotypes. But maybe that is good. I doubt anybody here would say that slamming heroin is a good idea if you have never done it. That said, just because that is what you choose to do, as I and many others have, does not mean you are going to end up a homeless crazy person with a needle in your neck in the gutter. It can and does happen, but not to everybody. There are plenty of people who can do drugs and maintain their lives. It is extremely difficult to do, but it can be done.

But if you are already feeling shitty about yourself and your decsions, good, get off dope and don't look back. Like Iforgott, I have gone through the misery that drugs can bring and am a better person for it. Had it not been for the things I did and saw and learned I think I would be a very ordinary and possibly typically boring person. But that doesn't have to be you. If you have already come to regret what you have done, good. Get out while the gettin' is easy.

Wow two people have said I am full of stereotypes and I guess your guys are totally right. The way I see things are in line with popular trends of thinking, which are wrong and we know stereotypes are what the majority thinks / does, but does not apply to everyone. Right?

Can someone please point out where in my post that I have heavy stereotypes so I can evaluate it and see if I didt explain it right or I have my head up my ass.

I dont want to be a gimp who doesnt know what they are talking about, I have posted this as my experience in life and the current situation - but what excactly looks like complete bs or stereotyped?

The homeless comment is because I feel that by using this method and using high doses if your new, will make you lose control and get to eventually pawning everything you own, cleaning out the bank, etc. I mean not litterly homeless, but if you go into that phase im sure it wouldnt matter if you had a home, or not. Im off topic here - just trying to put that into more of what I ment when I said it felt dirty. Shit it felt great, but now I can see how people live on the streets and as long as they have a syringe and black they are content. I guess this is one of my stereotypes?

Ok my nose, ya its getting way better. I would smoke weed and snort heroin daily, my nose was dry and all screwed up. It wouldnt even absorb so I had so snort and plug my nose at an angle so the heroin would sit in my nasel cavity. I got WAY high when I did this. Eventually it would absorb, but if I let go of my nose dope would drop out.

It just felt I was double timing with smoking and then black up my nose. My entire respitory system suffered after 7 months trust me. I dont think its that big of a problem, but had I not stopped how long do I have until my nose is just too fucked up damaged and following that is disease im guessing. I would not suggest smoking, snorting, daily, and say its fine for almost an entire year.
I did wash my nose before I went to bed, and tissues and stuff to pull out all the chunks of heroin snot. Sorry its gross, dude I needed to put water up my nose in the middle of the night because it was SO dry. I used pure water for a substitute. It sucked, and forget trying to exercise. Im telling you that this was becoming a nightmare and how many days weeks, months till its un-reverseable?

If you snorted heroin for 2 years, did you do it daily, and now your fine and all good? Mr IForgett if you want to tell me its all good, because it was not healthy and I still have to put water in my nose once in awhile.

Anyway after using for these 2 weeks, I realize the needle is really the only way to do drugs. Except when you eat a pill, all the other methods are stupid. The problem is, if I cant stop using the needle then its not worth it. I am stopping today, after I do one more shot of coke. I stopped the heroin and have methadone.

Man I spent like 20 bux a day on heroin for like 10 months. Lets do that math. 30 days per, x 10 months - 20$ each day. Ya its not perfectly accurate but that comes to : $6000 cash.
I would be content I suppose but when you look at the entire situation that is fucking insane. I DID spend 6 grand.
I got like 50 bux to my name, and thankfully I dont want to give it to heroin. I spent 20 bux on coke today instead.

Also one thing that blows is the length of time you feel the drugs when you inject. I might be the only one, or my drugs suck, but about 2 - 3 hours later im barly high anymore. I am, but not HIGH.
Im just there and thinking how to get more drugs to push it up.

Also if I had xanax, loritabs, alcohol, chronic, Oxy 20s, morphine pills, kolotopin, soma, etc. Why would you prefer to spend money to buy heroin instead of using one, or all those drugs in different combos and sessions?
Heroin is dangerious if you want it instead of all that, or food even.
This guy I said died at 55, he really did. It was crazy. I knew him for 2 years and he had a connect. He lived downtown.
And he had all those perscriptions, oh and methadone waffers, and he died of colin cancer and stomach cancer because he chose heroin over food. And he didt use the bathroom so he had toxins all built up. I mean, ya everyone isnt gonna be this crackhead guy im talking about - but he is, err was real. RIP god bless his soul poor guy. I was going to see him to buy some pills, and my gf refused to take me. Next week I went there and he neighbors said the parametics took him away. So I never got a chance to say goodbye. Its just the saddest thing, because I dont know people that died really.
I hope nobody here turns up to be this guy. God bless.
Comments? Ya its fucking LONG!!!!!

Sorry to hijack your thread, but what is smoking heroin like? Is it really bad for your lungs, or wasteful, or what, because I know it's not the preferred method of intake. But I wouldn't ever try injecting, I don't even like getting shots at the doctor, and I have snorted stuff before but only a few times, and I wouldn't like to make a habit of it. Also, how does opium compare to heroin, aren't they basically the same thing?

I wasnt saying what you said was BS. The only two things I seen as stereotypes were the guy that bought heroin instead of food and you saying that after 9 months you will have infections and shit. First, I understand there are people who rather have heroin than food, but not every heroin user is like that. Second, just because you use heroin doesnt mean you are guaranteed infections and diseases. Stay clean and sterile when using and youll be fine.

Those were the only two things really. And about my nose, yeah, after 2 years its fine. That doesnt mean yours is, but its most likely nothing, and if there is damage, its probably minimal. Like I said though, if youre concerned, it wont hurt to get it checked out.

Why is this in OD? If you want to ask a specific question that hasn't been answered before then do so. Otherwise, all your anecdotes and comments on your situation make this sound like a journal entry and that's where this belongs.

Agreed. That is what I also thought to be stereotyping. Also saying that shooting up in your car is what homeless people do or whatever. I used to leave my job as an telecommunications engineer and shoot up in my car.

I am by no means saying your story is BS either. I think it is totally true and I think that is is great that you feel so shitty about slamming dope so quickly. It is not a good thing to do. So, congrats if you get off and stay off. It is very difficult to do, but you don't have a very big habit ($20/day) and haven't been doing it that long. 2 years is a while but you have a much better chance at getting and staying clean than people that have been doing it for 5, 10 or 20 years. Good luck.

Its all on topic to my best ability and im totally serious in getting input on what im talking about. I put effort into this long ass posts because im trying to get the best answers. Im not wasting my time or yours with stupid shit, I really use this as harm reduction and I put alot of details in my posts to get the best answers possible by the vets of Bluelight.

Just because your too high and lazy to read a long post, doesnt make it a damn journal entry. It sure isnt a trip report.
Anyway I still want to know if anyone snorted heroin for a year and now have a decent nose afterwords?
Thanks for all the replys so far, I take this very serious.

Anyway after using for these 2 weeks, I realize the needle is really the only way to do drugs. Except when you eat a pill, all the other methods are stupid.
Dude the texts are huge... I'm still reading, but seriously, I had to quote this before someone else did. Apparently you're not thinking clearly or have little to no experience with other routes of administration. BL is about harm reduction, we all know that. Saying that the needle is the only way to take drugs just doesn't fit well here. I'm not trying to be a bitch or anything, most people will say I should be the last one to speak of this since I've been so reckless with drug abuse since 11 years old; but that really isn't something good to be said. There are many people out there who haven't got into the needle yet, saying that may call their attention and make them feel like trying the whole IV/to a lesser extent IM deal; which we all know isn't a good deal at all. As for when you said 'all the other methods are stupid', I can't disagree more either. Every method has its pros and cons, IVing is not the only way to go. It's all a matter of bioavailability/what you really expect/want from the drug. You can always change routes and give a certain route a break (in your case your nose) and then go back to it later. Plugging is great imo. I have nothing against IV, I am an IV user, I think it is the best method if practiced properly. There are way too many people out there like yourself as you said, who cannot sustain a stable IV routine. So please do not endorse IV use in any way, because even though implicitly, that's happening on what you wrote.

I would say it's in OD because it has to do with heroin. I enjoyed reading the thread and his story, if it were in his journal I may or may not have stumbled upon it. I don't feel anyone needs to actually ask a question in a thread in OD as long as it is related to "other drugs" and makes some sort of sense. That's what the board is for, right? Posting things for others to read.

Wow let me say right now that the needle is horrible way to do drugs and I am extremely sorry that I said its the best. If my family found out I would be seriously kicked out on my ass even tho i have a lil more unemployment money left. I was laid off.

I have used plugging for those morphine pills as the liver takes like 33% of the drug and you pee out a good chunk of it before it hits your brain.
I took about 5 morphine pills and plugged and let me say I was so high it felt like I took 10+ it was totally worth it.
It sucks that coke/ speed / heroin / are hard to prepair and administer.

Again I am very sorry because I started this IV thing but I should have never started. I am quiting all except weed and pills of all kinds because I dont want to keep doing this.
Its the end of my drug run in my life and I reached max.
I did the E, the raves, the 2 year speed run, the year of heroin, been drunk daily for a few months aka alchohlic , daily weed smoker for 4 years. LSD way back in 1999 of spiderman paper tabs. Plenty of nitrus. Smoked ciggs for 6 months when I was younger - never smoked one since quit been like 7 years?

I am at the point where its all done and I am moving on to live for me and my family. Ya ok I dont know how to not have weed for more then a month, but no more street drugs or chemicals.
Detox baby.

Thanks man for your advice - thanks all for helpin !

been on the needle for 5+ yrs. dont have much expierence with snorting.
i do regret a lot of things i did while using heavily. wish i had a chance to quit after only doing it for 6 months.
the sooner you quit, the better. so i would seriously consider what you're doing, if you have a chance to turn your life around, by all means take that chance and run for the fucking hills.
after yrs of shooting heavy narcotics straight into your blood stream multiple times a day you become a different person...and not for the better either.

needles and da shit they cause.

Ive been shootn heroin an homebake 4 10 yrs now (im 26) my brother died of an OD an i swore Id neva do it but here I am, anyway Ive worked thru every vein in my body from the tips of my fingers 2 da soles of my feet -literaly, now the only place i got left is my femeral veins (in ure groin near ure hip) Ive bin on da 'done' 4 a year now and Ive cut down from 500mg's of morph turned into homebake a day down 2 100mg's a day, hopefully by febuary I'll just b on the methadone,

Some advice and information; what you appear to have asked for that the others haven't already given you:

- Don't rub first-aid (or any) cream on a fresh puncture mark after you inject anything. Just use mild soap and water to clean the area and wait until the puncture heals on its own (seals up) before attempting to treat the bumps on the skin with any kind of cream. You don't want to get that stuff into your bloodstream or even sub-cutaneous because it could cause a mild local infection or irritation, and actually make the area look a lot worse than it is. Probably why you have these "big red and green spots." Wait a good 12 hours after your last puncture in that area before using first aid cream.

- Good to hear you're trying to be as sterile as possible. New needles every time reduces vein damage, although at this point it sounds like making sure of your technique will help you more. Make sure to read as much as you can about it. It's an art. Those big convenient veins in your arm are your FRIENDS -- you will hate the morning you wake up late for work and you can't get a fucking fix for an HOUR because you can't find a vein anywhere. Make sure you are using at least 3 (possibly more) veins at any given time, rotating between them, so maximize the healing time between shots -- don't use one vein only, wait for it to sclerose, and move on.

- Note that paper towels and cotton filters are not sterile -- but neither is heroin. *shrug* If your heroin has a lot of water-insoluble particulates floating around in it, you may consider getting micron filters (better than cotton) to use.

- Stereotypes: It is entirely possible to maintain a safe, enjoyable IV heroin habit for the majority of one's life with minimal to no damage to one's career, family life, social life, legal status, or any other definable aspect of his personality, unless he is subject to depression over the idea that he has to ingest a substance every few hours in order to remain functional (people compare it to insulin for diabetics to get over that, if it applies). HOWEVER -- statistically, it's enormously unlikely. I thought I was that person, and I lived it for two years; kept my job, never got arrested, actually GAINED weight, bought a house, been making six figures (actually got that raise while using) since then, etc. My tolerance got too large for me to handle even on that salary. But I recognize my mistakes (if I wanted to pursue such a lifestyle -- the jury is out); I should have bought in great bulk through a trusted proxy in a safe environment and chemically tested for purity before I had myself in the habit cycle. Anyway, my point is that it *can* be managed and the risks mitigated to a similar level of climbing into your car and driving on the highway. But it's an incredibly difficult proposition and I only know one person who has no problem doing it. It's a problem of identifying all risks, and mitigating them as much as one can. Unsanitary street drugs, right? Uknown purity, right? Fine; learn some chemistry, purhcase lab equipment or get access to an equipped lab, and purify it properly so you have a solution of known purity and no adulterants. Felony, right? Fine, build a network of people you trust implicitly and only work through them, no matter how dopesick you might be one night; employ methods of surveillance (we live in a wired age) such that you are convinced that your trust has not been compromised. Too much money, right? I already hit that; either quit and wait and save cash, or save cash before you start, then take the time to build your network and acquire as large a sample as possible with the highest purity possible; shoot for at least a year's supply, and try to get the next year's around the 6-month mark of your current one. Diseases, right? You've already purified the substance; now make sure you use a new needle each time and never share them or any other equipment used for preparation. Family/Social/Career concerns? This is a subjective issue, obviously, but don't be greedy; personally I am much happier on a functional dose of opioids that makes me chatty and productive than a nodding-on-my-chair super dose. Finally, don't let any of your priorities slip. Pay your bills. Make sure you are still shooting towards your life's goals. Own your lifestyle, don't let it own you.

Easier written than done. Like I said, extremely unlikely that people can pull it all off, but there is the rare person here or there. I'd say maybe 1 in every 50,000-100,000 addicts has a shot at it (and only 1 in every 100 people is a heroin addict, meaning we're talking about 1 person in every five to ten million people).

Finally, my advice -- don't think you're one of those. Even if you are, it sounds like you're at a stage of your life when preparation should take precedence over stringing yourself along on a habit where you have to visit the dealer twice a day. You're in a little too deep to expect any returns from quitting now vs. quitting in 6 months (in terms of the withdrawal you'll suffer); methadone maintenance is a good alternative. It's cheap, if you're properly dosed you honestly don't crave to use, and you don't get sick. Unfortunately it can be inconvenient, but hey, small price to pay, right? It also gives your veins a break, although sclerosed veins are unlikely to restore blood flow.

Sorry for the lenghty post. I hope people don't read this the wrong way -- I'm in no way ENDORSING (or NOT endorsing) the lifestyle I suggest may exist above. I'm merely stating that it exists, and it is one (of many) examples of proof that our governments' brainwashing RE: "DRUGS ARE BAD! NEEDLES ARE BAD! YOU'LL CATCH AIDS AND DIE! YOU'LL OVERDOSE! YOU'LL RUIN YOUR LIFE!" is disrespectful at best. Intelligent people can mitigate risks to a level they find acceptable. I refuse to limit my opinions to those endorsed by a bunch of sheep, most of which are much less intelligent than I (not trying to be arrogant, but really; I think some rocks are more intelligent than our current political leaders).

Good luck; be safe. Sorry for the long post.
