Wow, not sure how you managed to contain your excitement...

I might have teared up a tiny wee bit...
And yeah Cloud could be a bellend but he is like a thousand times better in FF7 than in any of the spin-offs since, good god they made him emo as hell. Pretty sure I know which bit ya mean Shambles, is fairly near the end as well![]()
Non-geeky snoo: Working on a new site today. It's by the docks and there are deer and stuff and it's actually clean and nice which is insane for building sites round here it seems.
I'm ecstatic over this. FF7 is my favourite piece of media of all time. I saw the PS3 demo of FF7 remake and wished it was true, and was left so disappointed. But now, they are doing it. I was nearly crying when I heard of this.
/extreme nerdiness
My copy of FF7 was scratched on the final disc (can't remember how many discs there were - whichever the last one was) so I mostly remember getting really into it for days and then getting stuck in... nup, can't remember the actual scene (think it was a prison or summat?) and the thing just crashing endlessly after that. Was most annoyed![]()
Just the other night, a door handle in thebogsbathroom facilities at work failed. And although we share an estate with the construction firm that actually built our office building, getting anything out of them beyond a vague promise to get somebody to have a look in the warehouse and ring back tends to be a bit fraught. Such is the nature of the construction industry, I guess.
Fortunately, I found a suitable replacement on the Internet, and I happen to live almost just across the road from a Screwfix trade counter. Or Snoofix, as I'm going to call them from now on. When I opened the package (yes, as soon as I got out into the fresh air; patience is something that happens to other people) to check whether all mounting hardware was included (it is -- plus a pair of long bolts for fixing through a door, with another handle or a fingerplate on the opposite side to conceal the holes) but there were actually two identical handles in the box! So, we have a spare for when the next one breaks. (Looking at the remains, someone must have had the torque turned up way too high and overstressed the plastic mounting bosses, so it's a race against time.)
There was all manner of glorious stuff on display there, too. It's a good job I was under obligation to get a receipt showing nothing but the items I was authorised to purchase .....
Guys, I can't believe this. They also announced they are making a Shen Mue 3 (this has been 10 years or so in the pipeline) for those who played and loved the first 2, but were left pissed off the trilogy was incomplete... you don't know how big this news is.
God loves us. Oh yes he does.
I remember being so pissed off for not having a Dreamcast for Shenmue 2. Made me friends with my cousin for a couple of days though![]()
Emulator. Pffft. You make me sick. Back in the day we bought dreamcasts, coz we knew Sega and Sonic were vastly superior to Sony and er... parrappa the rappa? But due to EA sports giving there FIFA games to PS2 and the money marketing muscle behind Sony we lost out...
True gamers always went for Sega and loved Shen Mue... And as a true gamer I will love what couldn't be achieved back then...
For you it's catch up-time, for me it's gaming actualisation.
Dreamcast was the worst purchase I ever made - I delayed getting a PS2 for ages because I'd spent all my funds on that. Shenmue was big, but it wasn't much fun - having to hang round doing a load of boring , mundane shit to maximise the gaming experience wasn't my cup of tea.
Doing fork-lift truck driving and other semi-skilled labour for less than minimum wage (a lot less, since I was effectively paying to do it) made me feel properly exploited![]()
Good games them, spent an entire summer on the second one once, and I remember spending an entire night taking speed and playing two player.
Is it weird that I can taste speed now?
