Snoo v:5 - Springtime Snooing

My sis is out of the hospital and back at home recovering :) Let's just hope that the operation will treat the problem and she gets her eyesight back to normal again. Am really happy she is back home, although a tad surprised as it is only 2 days since the surgery. She hates hospitals though and I don't blame her.
 
Coming to the end of my Beijing adventure and I'm not sure whether this should be in snoo or antisnoo!

Had a great time but there's lots of things it's going to be weird without when I get back, including:

Shouting at waiters to get them to serve you.
Being a novel laowai.
Going on nights out and not having adventures (without fail) with new people who talk to you because you're white.
The sheer scale on the city!

Yeah, maybe this is antisnoo
 
Just made a withdrawl from Pokerstars for $1700 (£1032) :D Hope it arrives in my bank before the 1st of May as I could end up with a bit of a cashflow probem again 8)


Also my new power adapter arrived today so I can use windows again without risking blowing up my computer :)
 
i have 3 bottles of wine!!! 3!!!

how did this happen? i always have 1 in, for emergencies you know. but 3. i usually only buy it to drink immediately.

getting drunk tonight doesn't entail getting into further debt. its quite scary thinking about how little money i'll actually have for next month after i've paid back everyone i owe (incomes just gone down by 500 a month too due to no teaching and not letting out one of the rooms in my house), so not having to borrow a tenner is almost as much of a snoo as bonus wine.

You've only been away for a couple of weeks (I think) I'm sure you'll manage. Try going away for 4 - 6 months then coming back to this country / the norm, it's depressing! :\

Roll on having enough money to get to China, aiming for November.
 
Just talked to my sister on the phone for the first time since her surgery, she sounds so much better and it seems like the surgery was successfull, her peripheral vision is starting to return although the rest of the vision will take longer. She sounded really happy to be getting better and was just really good to speak to her. :) :)

But it's horrible. Looks like some sort of Burberry shirt a ned would wear.
 
Thinking you've killled your computer with beer and then it magically resurrects itself. :D

Well it was either the beer or somebody's photo. They kind of coincided. ;)
 
Bought myself some gorgeous pale purple roses earlier, reduced to a quid :)

Also, my plants on my roof terrace have gone crazy with all the sun/rain! Tomatoes all flowering (yellow flowers! I didn't know what colour tomato flowers were til now) and the potatoes look like mini jungles have erupted out of the sacks.

My friend bought me a belated birthday present too, pot of lemon thyme, smells gorgeous and has really pretty purple flowers :)

Oh, an in a terribly sickaphanic sounding way ( though not my intention ) It's been a nice snoo to hear from Kate again. Really made me smile.


Aside from that, not much snoo my way today. But I did have a loved one buy me a bubble gum flavoured lollie for no other reason except to see me smile today. That was really nice.
