Sneezing Cat Germs

My cat (primarily an outdoor cat) has sneezing fits every day. She sneezes on furniture that people use often, couches, beds, pillows, etc.

Are there germs/diseases that can be transmitted to humans from cat sneezing? This cat is NOT up to date on shots/vet visits (not even remotely recent).
 
I'm 99% sure that humans cannot get any diseases from cats. Well besides fleas or scabies or something like that I suppose. You might want to take her to a vet though.

I'd take her to a vet and ask if there is anything strange about your cat's behaviour. Just because your cat isn't up to date on the vet visits and shots doesn't mean they will forcibly charge you for the newest shots. You can always say no if you don't have enough money to spare. However, take her there and at least get her a checkup.
 
How long has your cat been exhibiting this behaviour? It might be that they have a cold or some kind of cat illness.

I second the suggestion to take them to a vet.
 
Sneezing fits could be cat flu, is there any discharge coming from the nose?
If it is, you will need to keep up to date on this particular shot.
 
Cat's been sneezing for about a year or more. I sneeze everyday too. I'm allergic to dust, which I can smell and is rampant in my house. I just assumed the cat was sneezing for the same reason as me because it only happens when she is inside, not outside. There's no discharge or other signs of disease. Her energy level is as high as ever.

The reason for no vet visit is financial issues (barely keeping up with rent/necessities). However I have been spraying anti-parasite liquid ("Paralixer") in her drinking water daily as a health measure for over a month.

I've owned cats all my life and when I've had colds or stomach viruses or had some other type of sickness they didn't get sick.

If there's a lot of dust where you live your cat could be sneezing because of that. Dust and vacuum more.

My cat sneezes and has weird breathing issues but he's Persian and Himalayan but they have flat faces.

I'd try cutting out the stuff you're putting in the cat's water and see if she stops sneezing.

I don't take my cat to the vet since he stays indoors and never goes outside at all.

I also can't afford to take him there.

If your cat goes outside and is around other cats make sure he's vaccinated against things like rabies, feline leukemia, and that she/he is fixed.

actually, you can acquire toxoplasmosis, cat scratch disease, parasitic infections, rabies, some bacterial infections... but none of these are acquired via kitty sneezes.

it sounds to me like it's either dust or she's got an upper respiratory infection. if it's an upper respiratory infection, she definitely needs to see a vet. additionally, if she goes outside there is some concern that she could have feline distemper (or other serious illness) which is easily preventable via inoculations. i don't mean to harp, but if you're unable to afford to properly care for your cat, perhaps you should consider surrendering her to someone that has the financial means to. i think it's kind of sad that your concern is mainly about how her sneezing affects you and not about the health of the animal. :\

arthunter, please take her to the vet just to get her checked over. If you can't afford the vaccinations just tell them upfront. Also, if she is not vaccinated and doesn't have any proper parasite protection, PLEASE do not let her outside until you have her vaccinations up to date. Keeping her inside will help avoid her getting any nasty infections. The Paralixer shouldn't be doing any harm but it's also probably not doing anything at all so if you're tight on money, I'd skip the Paralixer.
