Smoking with matches?

me and my friends were in a situation like this the other day. we ended up lighting a candle and using toothpicks whenever we had to take a hit. it was fun, and I felt like i was really going green.

i've done the same exact thing, its kind nice really. you smoke faster that way, get that much higher IMO. plus it always makes for a goofy story.

lol, exactly. I felt like a total hippie, it was a lot of fun. I recommend everyone try it at least once with a group of friends.
 
when marijuana is smoked, the THC behind the hot spot is vaporized as the hot air from the burn is drawn through the joint or pipe bowl to the unburned material. the liquid THC and other cannabinoids have a boiling point of between 180-200ºc before they turn gaseous, at around 106º c, incidentally the carboxyl group is released from the molecule as carbon dioxide and water vapour.

now wood burns at 300º to 600ºc whereas butane burns at a mighty 1,970ºc

for pipes and bongs wood rather than gas must be the better choice
 
I've been rocking the matches with my pipe tonight; they can be a bit of a pain in the ass, but they work alright. If you have the longer ones you can get a couple hits with one match.
I find the phosphorus starts to taste like strawberries near the end of the bowl

Edit: what leet said sounds pretty solid, never thought about that.

Meh... boring. I first read the title as "Smoking with machetes" 8o
Think hot-knifing it with a pair of bush whackers =D



Anywho, smoking with matches makes for a great smelling room !
