My meth gear that was very crudely washed once or twice with dry acetone (depending on the mixup in the bag) is great for eating but really gnar dog on the lungs and mouth for smoking. It always leaves behind a thick brown residue that I was told contains lye (from the reduction) and sure enough it tastes salty so yeah it is lye, I am smoking lye...
Well the stuff still melts and reforms a solid with vague crystalline forms in it when cooling but seriously this shit tastes AWFUL once it swells enough for a big hit to form, nothing like the robot uniform smell of a clean pile of desoxy crystals to damnify you like you ought be. So there's lye and probably another impurity or two in there, so which vapes first? I can't imagine that meth, with it's low vaporization point of 210-220F can be doing much hanging around in that solidifying brown darkening puddle after the first few draws, but what about unreacted PSE and overreacted meth (CMP) -- could they be lingering just a little while longer in that brown glossy mess? I know the reaction that took place, it was a pretty reliable shake'n'bake that had sloppy filtration but adequate reaction times, so these are the only contaminants I am aware of and concerned of. So I just wanna know from any meth heads out there what they know about smoking sloppy dope, especially if it's the kind that turns brown in an instant: Are the first couple hits the only ones that matter? Cuz I can't go by taste alone -- they all smell and taste like shit to me! But my busy hands don't like, there's gear in there for sure, but not enough of it to warrant a more in-depth purification such as reX and whatnot.
