I was smoking fentanyl earlier today to keep sub withdraw at bay. It barely as done the job. I smoked about 13 hits of bb sized blobs today. And insufflated a 30 mg ir oxycodone aswell. What is the half life of smoked fentanyl. So i can properly dose myself for future reference. I cannot seem to find a realiable answer to this. I know it's short lived but is it two minutes or two hours in between hits? BTW it was a 75 mcg gel patch. i was using to do pinner hit's off some foil aswell as a dollar bill to act as a hitter.

Did your two 25mcg/hr patches applied to the skin not last you or are you just trying to get high now as opposed to solely alleviate withdrawals?

Smoking fentanyl is a horrible idea for this purpose, it really doesn't last very long. It varies from person to person, but generally the main high is over in like 15 minutes. It could still be quite a while longer before you actually went into withdrawals though. I'm not quite sure what a safe amount of time to wait between hits is, depends how much you're using and how strong the effects were from it. Please be careful!

It would be better to use the fentanyl another way that is longer-lasting, but of course if you were going to use it buccally you'd have to be very careful with dosing.

Also for the oxycodone, for withdrawal-relieving purposes I think it would be better to take the oxycodone orally.

*NOTES:

- will430's previous thread on a similar topic is here: Fentanyl Question

- I edited the title to this thread to be more specific than just "Fentanyl" so that hopefully you'll get more views/replies.

- I'm also moving this to OD since it's not a very basic question and hopefully you'll get more info in OD.

BDD -> OD
