I wonder if placing the rock in the meth pipe bowl but then using a torch to heat the side or the top of the bubble, this would allow it to be preheated and wouldn't give the oil a chance to run

after preheating the top/sides while leaving the bottom cold with the rock (if it doesn't melt) just rapidly flip the pipe over so the centrifugal force keeps the rock against the cold glass until its at the top then the rock should fall onto the hot glass and vape quickly if its still hot enough

I've never done this before so don't sue me if you waste a rock

One would think, but no this doesn't really get it either. Glass, especially thin glass, doesn't hold heat well. It cools off much too fast for this. It's the same issue with smoking/vaporizing DMT. It doesn't work well out of an oil burner because the deemers is viscous and will run away from the heat. You'll find yourself chasing it up the stem but never fully getting there, even with a torch. The answer is to vaporize it from a metal screen / steel mesh, as metal conducts heat much more evenly and efficiently, and the drug tends to lacquer up the metal… Essentially the drug has nowhere to run and must vaporize.

Yeah no, that doesn't really work, and don't forget about the carb hole… Rock it back and forth is the method. But that's for meth, not crack, which behaves like wax concentrate and can basically be treated that way. Most devices intended to be used with wax concentrate should work with DMT and I guess crack as well. As to the meth pipe / pookie / oil burners, the thing to do there, as has been stated, I think, is to pack the bowl with the steel mesh (note: it's best to avoid smoking from copper/brass, and definitely burn the polish off the mesh first, and obviously don't use anything with soap added to it like some fancy chore boy options) and smoke it per usual. Well, so you actually might want heat the metal through that carb hole, carefully, of course, but yeah, or break the bulb part off…
