Whats good world!?

So My girl is preg. and still smokes weed with me but has slowed down A LOT We have done research and haven't found much saying that smoking bud while preg. will hurt your baby.BUUUT heres the thing I smoke blunts and bowls (for the roaches) THATS IT. Ive been looking for info on smoking blunts while preg and cant find anything.. I ws thinking she should just stick to the bowl...Does anyone think that the tobacco leaf on the dutch is hurting my baby?

ANY INFORMATION would be appreciated.

what you specifically want to be looking into is the tobacco paper that makes the "wrap" of those factory made cigars.

often times its just chemical paper-pulpy bs made to look like tobacco leaf.

get her to smoke the bong instead of blunts, and you should be fine.
to be honest as long as she takes it easy and only blazes when she needs (eg; pregnancy pains, extreme stress due to hormones etc)
you shouldn't have any problems.

take it easy, and get ready for MANY sleepless nights once the wee one comes along :)

I'd say that's it's best to be safe with shit like that. Roll extra large joints. You can also get blunts that aren't tobacco leaf, although I think you can only get wraps and I'm not sure how good they are. They're palm leaf wraps I think. I'd say bong and large joints and all will be well. Better safe then sorry, and other methods can get you just as high as blunts (waterfall bongs and joints rolled as long/fat as blunts come to mind).

i smoke about 3-4 blunts a day...she only smoke 1-2 of them with me and only takes like 3 hits and is done...i really didn't think is was harming my baby..Still had to check tho LOL

thanks for the advice its appreciated.

I think the worst thing about her smoking blunts while pregnant is the fact that you check an internet forum for a serious health question about your child....

Here is a good article though- http://www.mothering.com/pregnancy-birth/use-marijuana-during-pregnancy it seems like smoking pot while pregnant isn't necessarily a problem but the inconsistency in the studies probably means other tendencies are in play within the subject's lifestyles- things like people who smoke pot while pregnant might have more of a tendency to smoke tobacco, not eat healthy, drink, or other things.

lets put it this way, it wont make him smarter thats for sure, that said, in my opinion she should def. stop this

Man I'm gunna tell it to you straight-up: smoke of ANY KIND will fuck up a fetus. It contains carbon monoxide, benzene, and all sorts of other carcinogenic hydrocarbons.

Fuck that shit, man-- your girl needs to STOP smoking anything, immediately, if you intend to keep the baby.

Now.... Every parent has the right ot make their own choices about what being a "GOOD parent" here ... so I'm not here to judge...

But In my VERY HONEST opinion... I think that smoke of ANY kind is fucked up.... you guys couldn't even invest in a vaporizer to smoke???

cmon... now ...... VAPORIZE PLEASE ... IS MY OPINION

EDIT: i meant IF you are gonna smoke weed AT ALL... at the very LEAST vaporize.

i don't think she should smoke around, or be around your smoke. it's not that big an effort and is it worth it to play with the life of your child?

look, cannabis just takes advantage of your natural brain chemistry. your brain already has a molecule that is like THC, and it has an important function. in the womb, while the brain is growing and organizing, is NOT the time to fuck with the natural balance. this kid is gonna be screwed up from the start.

you have to wait until AFTER the brain is developed to use drugs, otherwise there are gonna be permanent effects.

Well the marijuana might be okay during the first 2 trimesters, my friend's doctor actually told her it was okay to smoke a lil, b/c her morning sickness was so bad 8o

many of my friends have smoked while pregnant with no problem but that does not mean it is 100% safe AND they were only smoking a small bowl a day, not a couple of hits off a blunt twice a day...that is a lot!
however i would strongly suggest she stick to the bowl. do some searches on tobacco use while pregnant, if you are smoking a blunt you are smoking tobacco and weed at the same time. dutch masters must be terrible for the baby, really.

unfortunately, despite that, most of us come into this world on drugs (the heavy duty drugs they give women to ease labor pains), and are given drugs throughout our lives....even the developing brain can handle many drugs. the fetus is quite protected from a lot of things, b/c anything at all you ingest while pregnant could contain chemicals that alter brain development! and i'm not positive if THC can cross the placenta, its not as simple as mother doing a drug=a baby doing the drug

Well Mr. Feel Good, I have two adopted sisters, each of them have several problems, such as hearing, and speaking, and they will never be able to be 'normal'. All because their birth mother smoked pot. Tell her to STOP NOW, she should be worrying about vitamins, not freaking pot. I'm actually ashamed that you did not pick up on this. Rule 1# is the baby's health, and you pretty much ground it into dust.

Their is a HIGH chance that your kid will not be normal now, I suggeest she try to make up for it by eating healthy, the baby's entire body in under construction, any m essing with the placenta will damage him/her permanently.

Congrats, you are an idiot.

^ wow way to bring negativity...

the "damage" has already been "done" people... LETS MOVE ON AND TRY TO HELP THIS MAN AND STOP TRYING TO PREACH PARENTHOOD.

ohhcow_ thanks bro ....we have done A LOT of research and none of it is saying weed is bad for the fetus..plus I know a lot of moms that smoked bud while preg and there kids are fine. I was just wondering about the DUTCH..she has quit smoking cigars and is now just gonna hit the bowl befor bed and work...

Thank you all for the help even tho some of you were real assholes.

I took a developmental psychology class in college, which I know does not make me an expert or anything, but we did learn that smoking while pregnant actually has fairly negligible effects on the developing child. As long as the baby is full-term (assuming the mother is appropriate child-bearing years), there should be no harm done, other than maybe a slightly low birth weight. This being said, you'd be better safe than sorry by just quitting for the remainder of the pregnancy.

/\ this

why risk your child's health for a pleasure that is not necessary? Even if there is no substantial evidence that it causes serious health problems, you still admit there is a risk otherwise you wouldnt be asking.

Im have not read many of the post but im sure some has said

FOR GODS SAKE PLEASE AT LEAST VAPOURIZE

there should be legislation to instill breeding licenses.

Agreed. If I was pregnant I would try to eliminate any and all factors that could potentially harm the growth and development of the child.

In the end it is her decision. I however would not take the chances, unless I had some debilitating morning sickness. Why doesn't she talk with her ob/gyn or midwife about the subject. If I was her I'd try to gather as many professional and educated opinions as possible, weigh the pro's and con's and come to conclusion about what is best for her and the welfare of the baby.
