Smoking Cannabis while battling the common cold.

Whats up CD, I havent posted much here but I thought I would now, as this idea has hit me like a good soild hit from a bong.

Now my question/ idea is I have a cold right now, would smoking Cannabis help battle the common cold or would I be best to save the stash and just wait till the cold goes away?

Im conjested at the moment, the other day I had a sore throat and still hit the bong and passed out now its my sinusus so whats everyones oppinions on it to smoke while sick, or to wait till I am healither and over this cold.

I also figured out how I caught the cold someone who came over a couple days ago took a couple hits from the bong we passed around and now it seems as if everyone who had smoked that day has a cold. Should I invest in whipes? That way durring the winter, after each pass around I could just simply whipe the mouth peice off?

I doubt smoking weed will help you "battle" the common cold, but it will probably make you feel more comfortable. I find smoking helps with the body aches I get when I'm sick.

sometimes if I have a fever and I smoke my skin feels kind of gross and crawly, but other then that it always makes me feel way better even though it does supress your immune system slightly

When I had colds and wanted to blaze I got my boyfriend to take tokes and give them to me orally, like a kiss, you know. Less harsh, and don't get so fried. Personally I don't like toking with a cold cause it seems to hurt the throat a lot. In my mind, I always thought it made the sickness last longer, but I donno if that was really the case.

In my personal experience it's a double edged sword, it helps with pain but, rips your throat up.
Try some edibles or a vape instead.

i always feel it extends the duration of the cold. which would make sense because smoking pot weakens the immune system according to my immunoly professor.

^not gonna lie, i would judge the shit out of you haha. but i have a pretty good immune system so i may be biased. if your smoking with a sick friend just smoke in halves. for example if you plan on smoking 2 bowls you smoke the first, sick friend smokes the second. then you can wipe your bong down in private haha.

Smoking anything always aggravates any upper respiratory illnesses in my experience. When I was a heavy toker I felt that it would prolong the sickness and irritate my symptoms. If you could do another ROA it would be ideal.

Yeah but it seems we all forget that if we share bongs we have a chance of catching herps if the person/ people we smoke with have herps lol. although I havent ran into any of that Im just saying lol best be safe when getting high.

i dont think smoking will cure your cold but it may help you forget about it or relax more.....i still smoke when im sick.and yes wiping your bongs mouth peace with mediwipes will kill most of the germs.....i think

If it's any sort of a respiratory sickness then smoking will only lengthen your illness.

Edibles are always a good choice though.

I smoke during a common cold if my throat doesn't hurt (too) much.

I've always found that smoking seems to make the general shittyness of being sick a little better but the duration of the cold/flu lasts 1-2 days more if I have been smoking throughout.

Up to you whether it is worth it.

Nah I wouldn't worry, it's not that big of a deal especially if you're doing what you can to keep your homies from getting sick, that's respect.

dont underestimate the power of your mindset when fighting illness. People generally dont understand that the mind, body, and soul are really just manifestations of the same thing and therefore what happens with one effects the others. So the positive vibes from the bud could actually help him fight the illness better than if he didnt have the positive stoned outlook. Though you shouldnt need weed in order to maintain a positive outlook.

In my personal experience, along with my girlfriends, smoking while sick is nice for the time being high but afterwards it creates more issues.

1) More mucous production in my throught and nose made my cough, sore throat, and nose worse.

2) The illness last a way longer time than usual. Me and my gf are usually only sick for a few to several days with the last of the days feeling much bearable. My last cold lasted a month. No joke. the peak of it lasted about 2 weeks and the effects went on for a month (mild sore throat, cough and runny nose)



I recommend edibles. The smoke is probably what messes with the cold the most. The THC itself isn't that harmful although it does have an effect on your immune system. I would suggest that if you smoke try and stay on a healthy diet with vitamin supplements. Airborne works wonders. OH and dont smoke before bed because that just seems to make the morning hell.
