I just won a $5000 scholarship today to go towards any courses I want to do next year. My boss wrote a letter and applied for me without my knowledge and my work mate and myself got one each.

Fucking stoked! Some cruisy junket in Aspen/Las Vegas or Switzerland will be top of the shopping list. =D
 
I'm getting a night off work tomorrow night woohoo! :)

And I'm even more excited because it's my 3 yr old nieces first ballet concert on and we are off to watch her and take a crazy amount of pictures. <3

Awww yeah ;)

A few things are making me smile:

* Planning a trip to En Zed to see my mum, and go on a tour of the north/south islands (self-drive). SO excited

* I received some Very Good News yesterday. To say i'm relieved is an understatement. :D

* In 6 days, i'll be on annual leave for 2 weeks - and get to spend a heap of it surrounded by loved ones. I also get to spend most of it with my dad, who hasn't been well, and who i've not seen since April.
 
My Gran is the greatest. She makes me laugh so much.

My cousin called his daughter Shae, "What sort of a name is that? What does it mean? Shae. I told him I liked it but it's a ridiculous name."

Also, we'd all finished lunch and were just sitting around the table talking and she said, "Have you all finished eating? I haven't. I'm enjoying my second childhood here so you can all just wait until I'm done."

95 years old and still going strong.

I'm not really in a smiling mood atm, but finding out that I'm getting some time off between Xmas and new year is putting a little smile on my face.

I could do with a few days off to de stress after this year.
 
Fucking nailed today. Couldn't sleep last night so stayed up smoking cigarettes. Got to work 10 minutes late due to traffic induced musing on the ineffectuality of barbed wire on walkways in stopping suicidal people taking a long dive, for half an hour, on Strayia's most iconic bridge. Coffee and a few cigarettes at work then an hour and a half meeting with upper management telling them why my douchebag boss doesn't deserve the cushy position he's creating for himself. He'll get it anyway, and I want him to so he's out of my fucking face, but it felt good to vent. Then beach for two hours, sculled a blue tongue, then bailed on the work Christmas barbecue to do my Christmas shopping. Home and drinking now, kicking it to old grinspoon, 15 minutes before I technically finish work today.

I've got a pocket full of change, let's get tanked!
 
On holidays as of approx 4.39pm. New hair. Wine. Tasty takeaway from my fave cheap-arse asian place. Getting my CD swap package (real mail is awesome).

Work chrissie party is tomorrow arvo and I get to sleep in and then breakfast with the rest of the work social club crew (we are "setting up" for the party heh).

Good times :)

Barbed wire? Jeez, other countries have nets and things. Or nothing because it's going to ruin the view. Which is fair enough because if you're going to kill yourself, you're going to kill yourself.
 
i smiled this afternoon after having a very productive day because i stayed at work until 8pm, sounds weird but it was good, it was eerily quiet, I drank a 6 pack while i got a shit load of work done, then i went and got dinner and am now home. shower. bed.
 
Hungry Jacks hangover breakfast, pay day, sushi lunch, and seeing le boyfriend tonight. Awesomeness :)
 
This Urban Dictionary entry made me smile today:

immaculate congestion

When traffic is backed up for miles on a highway, crawling along -- and then suddenly everyone returns to normal high speeds without passing an accident, stalled car, or road construction.

We spent 45 minutes bumper-to-bumper for no reason?!? It must be immaculate congestion.
 
thats what would happen when they were doing the road works up the F3 at Berowra...

You would climb that hill, then fuck... 2 lanes at 80kms... and it was like a fuckin stand still...

Oh right, smile thread. I got sent some lovely gifts from some PR people today, including an OPI gift pack and an Oroton luggage tag. And my xmas shopping is totally done.
