sludge leftover in cwe

Hi all, I did use the search engine and tried to read as much as I could about this as I think I'm getting it all right but I still had to ask a quick question. Is the white sludge left in the filter after the cwe APAP? Or is it other binders and fillers? I usually let 7-8 10/325 norcos dissolve in about 100ml cold water, stir, stir, stir, then let sit in the freezer till water is super cold. Then I filter through two coffee filters and end up with roughly the same amount of water, only a little cloudy..like nonfat milk watered down very very very much. There's a BUNCH of white gunk left in the filter, which I assume is the apap. Sound good? I don't need a ton of answers and once the question is sufficiently answered (or if someone could pm or link me to a better thread) we could close this off. Thanks all in advance!

Hey Aporia, if i'm not mistaken that nasty white sludge is a combination of the APAP and other fillers n' such.
So youre good to go. The only thing filtering it more would do is get rid of any extra that could be left behind.

The white sludge is going to be a combination of APAP and any insoluble binders/fillers. You can't guarantee that 100% of the APAP is out of your final solution, but your filtering process sounds good. Check out this thread: Cold Water Extraction (CWE) Mega Thread & FAQ v2.0

Thank you! I just worry occasionally. My doctor had me on the lortabs for three months, 4-6 a day and I just found out how bad apap was for the liver and I started to get worried. He switched me to the norcos this month so the amount of apap is considerably less but I still worry. I read that apap does dissolve in water at 8mg/ml. Would I be doing any good by putting 4 norcos into a cwe? In theory, using 100ml of cold water with 4 norco, after the filtration process wouldn't there still be a good amount of apap left in the water? Even if there is sludge left in the filter it seems that there would still be 800 mg of apap left in my solution. I'm trying to consume as little apap as possible as my doctor tells me he's not concerned about my liver and wont test for anything but I've read that even 1000mg of apap daily can cause liver problems SO I was thinking of doing a cwe for all my doses. I'm a bit put off by the idea of cwe the whole script when I get it as the temptation to use extra is high .


p.s. I"ve competely given up drinking but as the holiday's come along and I'll have to be holed up with In laws I was hoping that I could imbibe if I got the cwe process down great. Maybe not a whoel 1/5th of whiskey or anything, but a few glasses of wine or a few beers with the fam would be nice. Anyway, thank you again for all the replies. I really appreciate it. pps: I should add that normally I take 4 tablets all at once, once a day. Occasionally I take a few extra but I do try and keep it at only 4/day. I thought this might help clarify how much apap I was taking daily.
