^I searched at Spec's Liquor and It says Absinthe Pernod *NOT THE REGULAR PERNOD ABSINTHE

So is it legal then and does that mean the one at the store is the same thing? I'm confused.

I tried the one from France but did not like it. It was wayyyyy too sweet and Absinthe is already sweet. I actually still have some of the French Absinthe in my house but I don't like it, so I should probably just throw it away.

They had "fake" absinthe for a while in the states and it had no wormwood, which is why I got mine from South Africa. It definitely works now in the states. lol

The wormwood is what you're looking for. That's the mind eraser stuff.
 
I did manage to try absinthe in some bar in the south of France a couple years ago - it's illegal usually but they had some special license. It's literally the only time I got drunk to the point of blacking out completely. For the life of me I've got no recollection of that evening, I don't even remember if I liked it or not :|

Ahh gotcha. Maybe they just don't have it in TX? I wonder why Spec's says *NOT THE REGULAR. (Spec's is a TX chain, cheapest prices I've found in TX.)

For some reason I only black out on Anheiser Busch beers. IDK wtf they do to them but I've blacked out on Bush, Budweiser, Bud Light platinum, and combinations of any the 3. Other alcohol-related blackouts I've had don't count here though because I mixed Xanax with them haha. Seriously I've drank like half a 750 in a few hours and remembered everything. But throw in some xanax and the next thing I remember is waking up the next morning. Don't get me wrong, Bud Light Platinum is a strong ass beer, it's practically bud light with just a little everclear mixed in, but the hangover is downright nasty even after just a few I get insomnia and jittery like if I just drank 3 cups of Starbucks on a xanax comedown. Last time I had it thought I was gonna get a seizure or something when it wore off.
 
Hahah seriously?! And yeah that seems normal for xanax, it's a bitch when it comes to black outs. It's weird you're so affected by those beers though. Lightweight. ;)
 
^ I can and will drink more of ANY other beer, but Anheiser Busch:|!! I've done way too much stupid shit on those I can't remember, and I didn't lay off that brand until I noticed. My dad's the same way so IDK. I tell him to lay off that brand he didn't even realize until I told him all the stupid ass shit he's done. No other alcohol has that mind-erasing effect on me, yet I have yet to try Absinthe. I don't like forgetting what I did the night before though. It can be rather inconvenient when people are pissed off at you, and you don't have a clue why.

I noticed some alcohol's give a worse hangover than others also. For instance I'll pay the extra few bucks for Belvedere over grey goose just to feel better the next day.
 
I'm assuming that one place says "Not the regular absinthe" because it has no wormwood in it. I really don't know why you would drink absinthe without it, though. It's not necessarily the best tasting stuff. It's tolerable.

Huh, weird. As I said I never black-out on alcohol alone, but absinthe's pretty intense. I have a friend who (apparently, cuz I don't remember!) completely freaked out on it that night, started getting really paranoid and depressed and stuff. I'm not really sure I want to try it again :p
And yeah I agree on the hangovers. Vodka in particular always makes me feel like absolute shit the next day, but I'm usually fine with anything else. For some reason. I've also come to learn that alcohol hangovers are absolutely nothing compared to opiate ones :|

Last one I had was like 63.1% I think. notice the % is handwritten as it varies from batch to batch. Excellent hand crafted whiskey.

I've never tried that one though or seen it anywhere, they might not have it in france/the uk? 63% though, that's really strong - aside from absinthe I don't think I've ever come across anything higher than 40% actually.
 
^that's good you stopped really man. it's taxing on the liver. I had to stop drinking liquor as I felt it taking a toll on my liver. Usually I just drink modelo out of a can, barely get buzzed off it unless I open up some tequila and start taking shots.

@ pagey ^ I'll drink a jack daniels if there's no TX stuff around. It's probably something just around here. Maybe like Oklahoma, Arkansas. I don't think it's a mainstream company as they give people samples and tours of the distillery. Hand crafted smaller-scale than JD I'd imagine.

If you're in TX, I'd say it's worth trying. Every bit as good as JD, but also stronger. 46% is their weakest flavor. I wanna do that free tour thing and sample ALL the flavors hahaha even a tiny little sample sip of each one they have should pan out to enough to get a buzz at least.

A whiskey sample tour actually sounds like a lot of fun haha. Will expect reviews if you end up doing it! And yeah I'll have to try it out if I ever find myself in Texas then :)
Actually if I went up to Scotland I could probably do some cool whiskey sampling there too.

Yup, I'm a lot happier with just taking some alprazolam or temazepam every now and then. %)

I just got my temazepam prescription again, and I took one capsule four nights ago, and feel great without it now. I feel like it had a long lasting positive effect.

The best thing ever is knowing I have great sex right around the corner. :D This next week should be pretty amazing.
