Indeed it is. And a pain to hide.
Haha well I like to think I am anyway! This is my first publishing opportunity so I reaaaally hope it'll work out. What are the published stories (that's awesome btw)/the new novel about?

2 of the stories are about the same character, a business man who one day just leaves work and starts walking out of the city and encounters a homeless man in the woods who helps him with the meaning of life, etc, blah blah, haha. The other story is about a musician who accidentally gets into a street fight and kills somebody.

The new book though, is about a former heroin addict whose family has fallen on hard times. He finds out he has a 6 year old son he didn't know about so he starts doing a lot of illegal immoral shit for money to support the people he cares about, eventually falling deeper and deeper, doing worse and worse things. It's basically a character piece with a strong theme on what morality is, walking that line of right and wrong, and what one would do for the people he cares about, even if it means doing very bad things.

What are you writing about? Is it fiction?

That sounds really interesting. Kinda makes me think of the Breaking Bad thematic, but probably better expressed haha. I hope things'll go well with that one :)

Yeah, it's mostly fiction but there are a few references to things that have actually happened to me. It basically chronicles the lives of two heroin addicts, one of whom is sort of a 'seasoned' addict who's already as low as you can get and tries to save the other one from herself as she thinks she can be that exception who keeps it under control (guess which one is based on me. Heh.). Mostly though, it deals with the stigma surrounding addiction and drug users,, as well as both of their struggles to understand what life is without drugs and how to find other ways to be happy.

Sounds like a book I'd read in a heart-beat. So you've completed the final draft and are now just shopping the manuscript around?

Thanks! And no not really actually - I know someone who works at Faber & Faber and I'd mentioned it to them real quick, they apparently spoke to someone else about it and that someone else asked to meet with me to discuss it, I told her about the plot/she read a couple passages and said she wanted to see a full manuscript. I've mostly finished it but still got a lot of editing to do so I'm trying to speed it up a bit now :)

Ahh yeah. It's a tedious process getting a manuscript finalized. If it gets picked up, they'll have an editor go over it anyway but, yeah it is good to at least get it as grammatically correct etc. as you can. Make sure there aren't any glaring plot holes, scenes are as descriptive as they can be, shit like that. I do a lot of editing as I write. It makes the overall book come slower, but when I finish a draft, it's a lot tighter and leaves less work for me to do during the editing/revision process.

Yeah, you're probably right to do it as you go along. I figured I'd kind of just write whatever came to mind and deal with the editing later, which I'm really regreting now. I'm finding that a lot of scenes need to be rewritten, there are a couple inconsistensies and just generally a fair amount of things I could have done better. Kinda stressing out about the whole thing haha.

Yeah it can seem like a loottt of work when you're staring at all those pages and thinking of all the shit that needs to be done. I know the feeling trust me. Hah. You just have to pick a scene, make it as good as you can, and move on to the next one. Having a good outline helps too, especially with the overall story line. I've even gone back and redone an outline after the the first draft was done just to help wrap my head around the entire thing.

But, just keep in mind that most of the great writers (in fact probably none of them) finish a book and have it perfect their first, second, or usually even third draft. Hah. At least you finished something though. A lot of people just give up halfway through and have a bunch of half finished books. So be proud of the fact you knocked it out!

Yeah :) it's just cuz I feel very pressured when it comes to time because of this publishing opportunity (not complaining, haha) so I feel like I'm not doing my best in improving what needs to be improved. But I guess no writer is ever entirely happy with their work in any case right?
It's fantastic you've already gotten some stuff published though, I'm really impressed.

My niggaz,
it's a showdown between me and ms.G
We are competing for the same ho.
Her name is 8 lives
I want you all to take sides.
There is this chick from tumblr who we are both interested in hooking up with.
Instead of having a threesome with her we are having a contest. We will both try to seduce her and whoever can tie her up in elaborate Shibari bondage and bang her up the ass (Ms G with an apparatus), will win the contest.
The prize is yet to be decided. We will take suggestions from SLR.

-rangrz and miss G

Ok so I got a date! And she asked! Out of nowhere.

She was like "so wanna get ihop Sunday?"

I remember my friend telling me that girls sometimes ask him out and was thinking "not possible! Why does that never happen to me?!"

And it did. Whoa.

Hell yeah, like your style. Shibari is just beautiful done well, bondage raised to an art. I have zero talent for it and I have tried, could take a lifetime to master as you get more and more complex build. So horny, not a lot more erotic. Unfortunately for you I reckon Mrs G has got this in the bag, women tying other women up, it just works better doesn't it. ;)
