WHat did you have in christmas dinner? What's a typical French christmas feast table menu?

Cohesion - ahhh... fair enough...good on you with the younger guy.

Can you tell me what it is (apart from disease and neuroses) about us younger guys older women love? I get way more older women wanting me to fuck them, than women my age - it's positively annoying...but also very great fun at the same time.

We had a sort of buffet with bread, foie gras, tarama and other spreads, various cheese dishes, truffles, chouquettes...don't know how to translate those haha. The typical french christmas menu is what we'll be having at lunch tomorrow which is foie gras, stuffed chicken, potatoes and bûches de Noël for dessert. Google it, they're delicious =D
We're probably gonna leftovers for a month, too.
 
A couple of the older (30s) women at work have hit on me. Gross and awkward. If I could hang out with your kids comfortably and they are closer to my age than yours, no thanks.

I am going to make sure I can score some leftover from my grandmas dinner table after boxing day - my mum isn't cooking trad xmas dinner tomorrow as it's just me and her this year, as the family has split up somewhat, and she flat out refused when I offered to buy a duck and cook dinner! :( I need a ROAST GODDAMN IT! (Although I did have some spitroasted venison the other night at solstice party - it was fucking lush)...

Are you back in France right now then?

You've gotta try foie gras. I only eat it on Christmas (not that it's something anyone under millionaire status would serve more than a few times a year) because of the way the ducks are treated (hypocritical, I know, but it makes me feel a little more ethical) but it is pretty damn good.

Oh no, that's a shame :( hope you'll be able to get some of your grandmother's food, I mean that's kinda half of what this holiday is about isn't it?!

Yeah I'm back home for a bit, going back to London next week. It's really (surprisingly) nice to be home though :)
 
I'm gonna use this thread as a TTYS for right now.

Today is my birthday, and unless I have a girlfriend this is always a melancholy day for me. Granted, I am lucky to have a family I love that spends time w/ me, but even they are caught up w/ Christmas prep, and they also tend to go off to church in the evening, in which I do not partake. I'm lonely, but I ain't that lonely yet. From 19-23 I always had a girlfriend, and they were always good about spending time w/ me. Only on one occasion in those four years did I not spend a birthday w/ a lady - b/c she was outta town. But there was still that sense of not being isolated.

Despite not having the romantic company, and being forgotten by all my friends, I'm still happier in my quasi-isolation than I would be in a frivolous relationship. All the prospects of the last 3 years have only offered the potential of sham relationships which would be more a burden than comfort. On the other side of the coin, this does get sad when the notion creeps in that this could be the template for all the holiday seasons to come. I know it is immature and short-sighted to think just b/c I've been in a 3 year romance rut that it'll persist, but it's hard not to ruminate on it now and again. Ah well. I'll just enjoy my peace as it proceeds and see what happens. Thanks SLR, for allowing me to get whatever this is outta my head.

And props to Cohesion for swooping on the young and willing. It's always an option for me, but most girls I meet who are more than 2 years younger than myself tend to annoy me in untold ways. I'm glad you're able to get around the maturity gap.

B1tO'... FTR I prefer and stick with older men. More experience=way better. This guy will be an anomaly, and I'm just trying him on for size or something. The idea is compelling because it feels good to be wanted! As kw mentioned and you agreed, women in their early 20s look better. I'm 29. So for an attractive early (emphasis on the 'early') 20s guy (I can't even call him a 'man' comfortably) to want me...well that just feels fucking A+. Women love to feel wanted. That's my take.

I wholeheartedly agree that most of the time, more experience is better, there's only so often I like having a relatively blank canvas.

Of course a dude in his early 20's is going to want to fuck you if you are attractive and are 29! Women definitely like to feel chaste...but sexually wanted, but you my good woman, I'm sure, are wanted by a great number of us.

I can agree that women in their 20's look better as a general rule than 30/40's but I have had some stunning 33+ women who would keep my head from turning towards 20 year olds in their presence.

Oh just cuz I've got a terrible relationship with my parents and most of the reason why I wanted to study abroad in the first place was to get away from them. So I didn't expect to be getting homesick :P

Yep, it's a liver pâté basically...which sounds disgusting but it really is amazing, haha. No the ducks aren't nailed to a post (jesus Oo) but they are stuffed which is pretty awful.

Actually, upon reading the production methods of foie gras, I don't think I will even be trying it - that's horrible. :( Poor ducks - it's one think to be killed, but that's actually torture.

Terrible relationship? Aww that sucks...I hope it is settled sooner rather than later.

No I don't do cam stuff.. that is so 90s. This was a friend I've been talking with for months.. he just wanted to show me so I gladly watched.

Sooo tonight I'm having a guest over... I found him on plentyoffish.. haha.. I google'd his name and nothing stands out as a red flag. He's an engineer, has been at his job for almost 2 years.. Indian.. a year younger than me.. more my style and potential relationship OR fwb material.

Yeah I know...it's pretty awful :\ one of the reasons why I was a vegetarian for a few years - but it's not easy being a vegetarian in France. Couldn't eat anything.

And Cohesion that's really cool, hope it goes well =D
