Yeowch.
Rest. Rest. Rest. Alternate hot and cold packs in 20 minute intervals.
I have very bad arthritis in my spine and I started off with opiates, but quickly got off them. Back pain is manageable without these drugs.
I use an OTC cream that has ibruprofin in it, I buy some generic brand, and I'm having trouble remembering what the brand name is - maybe aspercreme or something like that? Works pretty kinda decent at eliminating a bit of the pain.
Tiger Balm rocks. Keep on with that.
I take tons of baths in eucalyptus and tea tree oil. Breathing the vapours relaxes you, and soaking in it can help relax your muscles.
I went to an all natural doctor and he had given me a spray, it was something called like "ice" or something along those lines, anyway, I wish I hadn't moved from that doctor because that stuff kicks ass. Spray a little of that stuff on your back and that was numb for an hour. If you can find anything like this, go for it.
Try those icy/hot back patches.
Good for you for not seeking drugs for this. ^5
