Today I tested two different Ecstasy pills side by side. Both have similar user reports and both were tested by Dancesafe in May to contain "MDMA only."(Although, it is possible that the pills on the Dancesafe websight, though the same in name, were from a different batch)
One pill was the Quarter Moon pill,(Which Dancesafe had no photo of) and one was the Diamond (Which matched the Dancesafe photo)
When I tested the Moon, it began changing immediately, going from a brownish purple color eventually into very dark purple, with slight green/yellow around the edges. Definitely on the grey or colorless side of purple. The Diamond however began changing immediately as well, ending up a very dark violet. Definitely on the red side of purple. I was fascinated by the difference, since both pills were reported to be extremely similar in effect. After letting both samples sit for several minutes I was even more surprised to find that they never looked the same. The Moon remained a colorless purple, and the Diamond remained the darkest of violets. Has anybody experienced similar results with pills? Is there any type of scale to judge the quality of your pill based upon the shade of purple?I imagine that the filler in the pill is what is causing such a remarkable difference, but that is even a little hard to believe. Please, share your personal experiences. I am curious to know what other people have discovered.
Peace,
Cristalena

The multitude of inert materials required to press a pill react and interfere with the reagent. The guys here selling the kits like to minimize this, but it's definatley a factor. And it is why I don't think the kit is that effective for screening against DXM. You will get false negatives and false positives with the marquis reagent, and that's somethign that should always be kept in mind.
