So my sleeping problems started again. It is my third night now (actually a morning). Consulted Dr yesterday and all he said I should continue taking alprazolam, diazepam and zopiclone. I havent taken alprazolam since may day and stopped taking 5 milligram of diazepam last monday.

So before I went bed I took 10mg of diazepam, one mg of alprazolam, 7.5mg of zopiclone and one 20mg of OxyContin and 6mg of melatonin. Then I shut off the lights and tried to get sleep. Waited for 45minutes and redosed alprazolam. Waited fifteen minutes and redosed zopiclone. Nothing happened.

After hour I thought that what hell and took can of beer and flushed 4mg of alprazolam and one zopiclone too with 50mg of Seroquel. Got little nods but were awake of all times and the nods lasted 15 seconds max.

Now at the 7pm I feel still energetic and like a person would feel slewping like 8 hours. No exhausted feelings but I think that my reaction time has decreased so instead of driving I am going with my better halfs ride to the work training.

Called to hospital and psych ward does nor have any places open and there is even a waiting list and as I am nor dangerous to myself or others I cant getin top of the list or in ER acute ward.

Not sure to do now. I have an appointment to my psychiayrist at next week. At the hospital they use their own cocktail of midazolam with other drugs in it.

None of the normal doctors will touch my medication with even a 5 foot pole.

I know the flunitrazepam would but it is banned here.

So any suggestions would help.

I don't understand how zopiclone doesn't knock you the fuck out, as long as you aren't resisting the sleepiness. I don't know if I can help you, but I would advise against taking more and more zopiclone. After 15-22.5mg, I experienced a benzo-like hypnotic state, but had severe retrograde amnesia.

As I have understood you know how benzos affect people. In many cases less is more. I know that has been said a million times, but still for me example if I take more than 1mg of Clonazepam or more than 30 mgs of Temazepam I just often get more agitated. I have tried many benzos and the only one that makes me really sleepy is Nitrazepam, though haven’t ever taken more than 20mgs at once. This less is more thinking applies to me, even if I have a tolerance to benzos.

you're enjoying the feeling coming on rather than focusing on sleep. or. the pills (alprazolam esp) wear off after 4 hrs and you wake up.

maybe ask for some chloral hydrate instead of benzos n zopiclone & a longer acting more powerful benzo maybe like klonopin

i understand where you're coming from but other than that all anyone can do is offer other suggestions. whether they be chemicals, herbals aides, exercise, meditation, etc. and this subject has been covered a million times before.

i suggest checking out the Healthy Living forum for some insight as well. also the search engine within OD,

i'll leave this open for a while to see what sort of path it heads toward and to give you the chance to hear some more responses.

pretty unlikely the doctor is going to be down with that considering he's having a hard enough time as it is now with his prescriptions.

that's the impression i got as well (not being judgemental).

continue to discuss options with your doctor.

take your benzos half an hour before you intend on falling asleep, lay down in bed and try and shut your brain off.

i also renamed your thread for clarity

I dont enjoy this situation or have any euphoria at all from the pills I take.

I know from past experience that being unable to sleep for four to five days leads for full blown mania.

I know about sleep hygiene, dont exercise 6 hours before going to sleep. I also practiced Sahaya yoga meditation last evening.

Not sure what to do anymore. I might lie to the Drs at the ER that I have suicidal thoughts and end up in psych ward in no time but that would not be fair for those who really are suicidal. Also I might end up losing my gun licences.

I wonder how long body sustains damage from sleep deprivation?

I took zopiclone recreationally a few times years ago, and in my experience it doesn't do shit unless its taken on a completely empty stomach(like 6 hours after the last meal). If you've eaten anything right before taking it, its not absorbed fast enough to work. I once tried to crush a tablet of zopiclone and snort it to get it absorbed from my nose instead of stomach, but that didn't seem to work either.

and mania leads to crashing, which of necessity involves sleep. if you worry about getting mania from lack of sleep it's a self-fulfilling prophecy--you won't sleep and you will be manic.

I have the same problem. I try to let go of the idea that there's a drug that will help. when I hit zero on opiates I would be up for days at a time, and when I'd sleep for an hour or two I'd only know it because the cd would be several songs ahead. nearly two months later I still get maybe 2 or 3 hours of sleep on days when I don't run. I walk an hour and a half a day but that's not enough.

so: I recommend running. I guarantee if you get to the point where you can run two miles you'll get at least 6 hours of sleep that night. at some point the body just crashes, and you might as well do that with exercise instead of pills.

Not being able to do a lot of exercise because of my back and knee problem. I do walk around three miles a day. I have a prolapsed disc which might get worse from running as even with a right technique would cause twist motion to my spine. I do go to fysiotherapy three times a week and do weight lifting and stretches.

Have had palpations throughout the day and blood pressure and pulse is up. Will go to ER and chain my self into something until they sign me in and treat me with IV benzos like midazolam. And I am not kidding.

oh right, sorry. it sounds like you've written the script already, in more ways than one. I could be wrong, of course, but I don't think lack of sleep will kill you. heart palpitations are no fun, so I'm not sure what I'd do in that situation but I wouldn't assume it was going to happen unless it's been consistent for you. I thought your primary concern was mania, which eventually takes care of itself without killing you (though you may be insane for a while before you crash--it's not the worst thing that could happen).

its sounds like the OP just ran out of his xanax and valium and is now having insomnia problems because he doesn't have his XANAX OR VALIUM!
Its going to take a couple weeks to get your body back to a normal sleep pattern and I bet you 1000 bucks you end up back on ur meds as soon as your refills come in.. I can see right threw some peoples posts.

Your logic is incorrect. If I had run out of my script and started having insomnia because of that three days ago how could I took them last night?

And by the way, you cant even spell correctly even that english is your native language.

Valium and Lorazepam keep me awake when I have opioid withdrawal. They almost make me speedy feeling. My girlfriend says I act like I am tweakin. Klonopin and xanax help me sleep though.
