How come after a night of heavy drinking I wake up extra early for no reason? It's not like anybody woke me up, I just wake up early after a ngiht of drinking. I usually get up, eat something and then fall back asleep for 3-4 hours. What the fuck?

you're probably not waking up, but regaining concsiousness. After drinking a lot in one night, you can induce unconcsiousness, by well, trying to go to sleep. Drunken slumber is not fitful rest, you are not attaining REM, etc.

Funnily enough, this just happened to me. Drank last night, and woke up at this ungodly hour...Maybe some dopamine disturbance? Or some GABA-related thing? who knows...

I've been wondering the same thing for years. But then eventually when I become accostumed to binge drinking (college), it didn't happen anymore.
In my current situation I've been regularly using alcohol to ease a long opiate holiday. Now when I get shitfaced drunk, I'll wake up and maybe 4 hours had passed, I'll get some OJ or whatever to rehydrate myself. I'll then attempt to go back to sleep. But I usually lay there restless. Hangovers are a bummer but so is withdrawl.
There's most likely some medical reason behind this. I'm sure one of our resident brains would be happy to explain. BTW... What ever happend to Roches?
tonight I binged in moderation... I night I wish would never end.

I agree with C21H23NO5. Your probably just regaining concsiousness. This happens to me from time to time when I drink heavy. I fucking hate it but there's not much you can do about it other then taking some valium or xanix before you go to bed. That should let you sleep through. Some advice though always keep gatorade & alka seltzer morning relief around. It works wounders for the next day after a heavy night of drinking...

I have this same problem, however I think it is a result of me mixing alcohol with caffeine. I usually drink Captain/Cokes or RedBull/vodkas, and when I wake up my heart is beating much faster than it normally does at rest. It pisses me off 'cause I want nothing more than to sleep for another 3-5 hours, but my body just doesn't let me. So I'm forced to lay around all day AWAKE like a wet sack of garbage.

In general, alcohol isn't good for sleep. It's possible to get so piss drunk that you pass out when you lay down but chances are, you will toss and turn and wake up a lot anyway. For me, I wake up in the middle of the night because I start to feel some of the next day effects of alcohol (increased heart rate, shakiness, etc.). I do think that 1-2 drinks before bed can make sleep more restful on occaison but it shouldn't be so much that you feel drunk.

Yes falling asleep on alcohol is not good because you get no REM, rapid eye movement which is a type of sleep. So the next time you sleep your body will need to make up for the REM it didnt get the night before and you could be out of it for a few days.

Fun tip:
If at all possible, drink a glass or two of water before going to bed. You'll be less dehydrated the next day, and any hangover you have won't be as bad.
I always wake up in the middle of the night, regardless of what I drink or ingest. Kinda sucks.

i usually wake up WAAYY to early even if i only drank a few beers, wich isnt to bad cause i got no hang over ,but after heavy drinkin GOD HELP ME i feel like shit and CANT FALL BACK ASLEEP

The worst is waking up after several beers and tasting that nasty film of barly and other fat shit all in your mouth. Brushing my teeth doesnt even take it away
