Hey
I've never been a good sleeper- EVER and have tried it vain all the usual sleep remedies , valerian, hops, nytol , phenibut , dream herb, exercise, meditation etc to no avail. Although smoking cannabis during the day means I sleep easier but I can't exactly justify it to my parents.

The problem

I never really seem to want to sleep, even although I do , if you know what i mean. My brain never shuts down, even if I turn off all the electronics, Im never tired at night, to be honest I'm my most alert and focused at night :(.

But I'm not exactly the right age to just go and ask my GP for something stronger, like proper sleeping meds can I? But I would still like some advice if it is actually possible to get a Doc to prescribe something stronger?

I have a similiar problem and the thing that has worked the best for me is to schedule my life around my inability the sleep as best as possible. I absolutely detest sleeping so I do the bulk of my work in the evening. Obviously this is not always possible so other measure can frequently be fruitful. For myself the best medication for sleep has been Ambien, if you have access to it.

I highly doubt any of the GPS i know would prescribe me ambien, do we have ambien in the uK?

unless you only have insomnia a few days a month or only on vacations or something like that, you should just forget sleeping pills even exist.

try and get some OTC herbal sleepers if they dont work try some doloxamine but dont take that every day its pritty addictive

tried them all, only worked once. Nytol used to work but I had to take like 4 of the max strength one and got abit worried about taking too many and having abit of a delerious turn

I dunno if you have already tried melatonin? If not i would at least give it a go its like the actual hormone the the body produces that regulates sleep n what not.

Works pretty good for me but in your case which is seeming pretty rough maybe trying it in combo with doxylamine as mentioned above. Shit would knock me out.
