Sleeping after MDMA

I have used MDMA on and off for the past 7 years and during this time I have had a terrible inability to sleep comfortably after use. When I was first using it I never had a problem however that may be due to the fact that I didn't sleep afterwards and preferred to stay up with friends.

These days I go to bed as soon as I'm home but have found the sleep to be almost unbearable! I hadn't used MDMA in 2 years until last night and I again had the worst sleep.

I am usually able to get to 'sleep', however I have crazy, intensely vivid dreams.

They usually consist of feelings of extreme frustration like I have never felt before! I wake up and find that I'm generally ok, but the moment I fall back to sleep thy pick up where they left off. This tends to freak my girlfriend out (who can generally sleep without a problem) as I toss, turn and kick in my sleep and suddenly sit bolt upright throughout the night. I can't begin to explain how intense and bizzarre these dreams are!

Has anyone experienced anything similar or no of ways to mitigate this sort of effect?

I have tried a range ofthings such as 5-htp but this does not seem to help!

I certainly agree! Though I'd probably prefer to not have to go through this each time.

I used to be a big fan of Xanax, but have no source for it these days and it's prescription only.

5HTP is used to treat insomnia and also replenishes your serotonin, win win. Melatonin + Valerian root is also a good idea.
 
Best thing to drink once you finally sleep then wake up is a Banana and Oats smoothie , try and use a pint of milk too.

Super anticomedown drink
 
i know EXACTLY how you feel....

took 2 clean yokes last night for new years, i was absolutely floating!

then when i got home i had the worst sleep ever..... its like halfway between concious and sleeping. and such trippy "dreams", even though they are more like extremely elaborate thoughs, and i can control them.

and my gf whom i was sleeping next had the same thing kinda, she'd be kicking and shit and moving in her sleep and stuff...

i dont really have access to the likes of xanax and valium, and 5htp is banned in ireland, so ive just had to put up with it!
 
Smoking a couple of joints when your on your way home/before you go to sleep. I find makes a massive difference to my ability to sleep. And how bad my comedown is. The view times i haven't smoked on the comedown they have been horrible!

I was gonna say this. See if you can find "Marley's Mellow Mood" tea over there. Has Melatonin/Valerian Root and some added beer hops + Kava kava to make you nice and sleepy. Always does the trick for me unless I'm on meth or something.

Also, usually when I have problems sleeping on regular it's when I re-dosed. When I only stick to one dose this pretty much doesn't happen

To the OP:
I have general sleep issues as it is. Normally after an MDMA experience I've been up for nearing 48 hours or so as I've not slept the night of the actual experience. Since my comedowns are always pretty mellow and clean I generally end up just having a chill day until that night and can pass out really easily. It actually seems that this is some of the best sleep I can get these days as normally my insomnia kicks my ass pretty good.
 
usually it takes relentless bong hits of high grade indica to put me to sleep, sometimes it doesnt even put me to sleep but just makes the comedown bearable actually very fun if all smoking copious amounts of ganja. Couldnt face a night of gurney mess without the beloved herb, im sure thats true for most of us?

mmmmm sounds tasty and thatd be another + 5 grams of protein right? (I drink it after a workout too) thanks for that :)

Apparantly Sour cherries could be helpful to raise melatonin levels naturally, IF you dont want to take supplements but tbh if you have just taken MDMA then what the heck lol
 
I used to pop a Melatonin, then smoke some high quality buds until I literally passed out ahahah.

But, quit bud for now, and found Xanax to be a miracle drug if used properly. After a huge dose a 2mg bar gets you out rather fast, but, I prefer to take .5 and fall asleep naturally. Asked for the odd dreams, I absolutely love them!!! Idk why, I think I'm just weird but they are so strange and unique.
 
In order of preference

1. melatonin is a great antioxidant and helps promote natural sleeping cycles (circadian rhythm)
2. a nice Indica or heavy sativa marijuana. I prefer to vaporize, but edibles work great too if you eat them on the come down
3. xanax or valium - though i never recommend pharmies, these work when you're in real need.
 
IF my MDMA /Pills are clean then I don't normally have a problem sleeping - Obviously If I have been dancing about / knocking out shapes for a few hours then I may struggle switching off.

The following may help

Downers, nice warm shower, climbing into bed, sex, chilled out music etc.

Benzos are a godsend :)
