Sleep paralysis

Yeah same you get dragged into the state, you can feel your self being dragged into it and you have to try pry your eyes open with your brain.

Yeah, I can empathise with this. Or trying to shake your head. It feels almost like I have parkinsons or something.. the harder I try to move, the harder it gets. I have to basically stop and be calm for a moment and then suddenly attempt to initiate movement for anything to happen.

Here's how I woke up this morning. I'd not been long asleep, maybe an hour. I was sitting in my chair at my desk and I could hear myself snoring and feel myself gradually falling off my chair though I was powerless to do anything about it.

Eventually I fell off my chair head first and smacked the top of my head off the floor. I woke up about 10 seconds later but I was conscious of the whole thing. Head still hurts, worried I've actually cracked my skull.

I went to bed straight away and slept for eight hours.

I think I've had it once, but I only remember remembering it, if you know what I mean. My memory (of the memory) is that it was extremely weird and like being awake while sleeping, which I guess is sort of what it is.

Coltdan, have you seen the pawn stars when they rolled up in this guy's purple stretched lincon continental with cigar burns? The count, from count's customs said noooo. They all interlink, pawn stars, american restoration, counting cars.

Nah mate dont think i have. only seen a few episodes so far, i wanna see loads more

but waking up powerless to move or even scream with an evil demon in the room is pretty fucking rubbish.
QFT. And lulz.

Sounds funny but (from a religious perspective) almost certainly true. Dreamland is opportunity for demons to come into your consciousness and speak in visions. Wouldn't surprise me if they had some involvement with sleep paralysis.

Sleep Paralysis; can anyone else experience your dreams or feel your physical pain?

It's crazy, crazy shit. I find it most fascinating for the scary element that almost always brings. People describe feeling held down. Not just paralysed but physical pressure on their arms or torso's. Some people experience being fucking raped but some invisible beast, really scary.

I'm telling any of you reading this that if you want to suppress the truth that i
truly exists.... DONT READ MY POST!

I have experienced sleep paralysis for more than half of my life, around 20+ years. It's more common than people know. Not everyone is capable of remembering their dreams, and yes everyone has them. But, when you experience the "old hag" it's like none other.
I am referring to demons, half man- goat, demonic presence, grim reepers, objects manifesting into negative forces by possession and suffocating me, Old Hags (2) petting me, loud terrifying screams and hideous over-toned evil laughter, Bloody, muscular, physically appearing man sucking out my streaming like smoke Soul, being sexually attacked my male & female ghouls, I can go on And on but I'm sure you can only imagine.....
OK I know you are already saying "this person is crazy"! But, let's start with this.... Can the Dr feel someone else's physical pain? Can they plug you up to electrodes and see your actual thoughts/dreams on the clinical procedure monitor? The answer is, of course NOT!
So, to all the beloved scientists out there who are still studying this, I will have an argument to why the theory of the body is asleep while the brain is awake is absolutely utter BS. And I'm going to say do I have unusual outstanding unexplainable experiences throughout normal total conscience times, YES, but never this evil shit that happens when I'm supposed to be asleep.
First of all let me say that I have been to a sleep lab 20 years ago. Things did not go as planned they basically said I fell into deep sleep five times more than the average human. To be specific I was an REM sleep for five times up to an hour each. Where is most people only going to deep sleep once up to an hour every night. On that occasion at the hospital lab nothing else happened, as I figured that's the way it would go. Ok so here is my basic argument. There has been discussion over many years of multiple dimensions and realms in this world that coexist. There have been reports of people seeing things that do not exist in ones mind but completely registers on electronic equipment or captured in photographs. So, how is it that when your mind is in a different state of consciousness that certain people can tune into other things that they normally could not do? How can you tell me that when my sleep paralysis occurs people have entered the room during the occurrence on particular times and witness certain things (not everything I see or hear or feel, but pure evidence). They aren't at all asleep. I'm talking change in room temperature < COLD 40* F? Or seeing an object (fan) that were plugged into electric outlet get unplugged and slowly revolve off, or me unknowing knowing the language of tongue, only because I've been told. Or the little girl (ghost) who ran circles around me during daylight as I lay on a towel in the sun eventually screamed my name loud enough for two people to hear her. Or my mom and sister running to my room saying I was WHITE AS A GHOST, after my vocals returned on one lunar moon at midnight to the dot after "trying to sleep with no distractions for 3hrs" I looked at clock 12:00 a.m. Turned my head back to foot of bed and a man appeared. He approached me, I was scared. He got two inches from my face and I was able to break my silence(you can't really speak or move, but you CAN see) It's not mere hallucinations.
Anyhow, I'm going to try to sleep how. I do not take sleeping medicine to get through the night. I will tell you that the devil exists and so does GOD! I was only baptized 4 years ago, since then I truly have accepted that Jesus is real and GOD is our creator. Ok atheist, just hear me out, don't judge me, I don't judge you! I have finally in the last several years been able to get it to chill out when it starts attacking me, yes it's physical and I wake up with bruises and out of breath.
Here is what to do, because if you experience this you WILL KNOW that if something that evil can be present that GOD too IS an existence. It doesn't work immediately but give it a go and believe it, this really works...... Just say even if it's mentally, but the true power will eventually allow you to voice this "I LOVE JESUS, I LOVE JESUS, I LOVE JESUS" I'm no bible thumper but I believe in yin and yang. The positive the negative. The good and the bad.
SWEET DREAMS!

Let's not turn this thread into a dry discussion of metaphysics, or worse, a heated debate, but to me, it seems unlikely that these apparent demons and Norwegian hikers are really beings from another plane of reality who can haunt us, but only when we experience a specific type of sleep disorder. To me, it seems more likely that these abnormal experiences are products of abnormal psychological states, and as I think consciousness is entirely an emergent property of matter. that means abnormal brain states. I do not dispute that religion and a sense of spiritual well-being can improve one's health, but I don't think the best inference to draw from that fact is that there actually are ghosts and demons. Just my humble opinion.

Nah, bollocks to humble. You're speaking sense.

The problem I have with this understanding of consciousness is that all other emergent systems come in the shape of their parent material. Biology is said to emerge from chemistry, and biological systems have no features that cannot be described in terms of their chemical underpinnings. Respiration is a biological feature which is directly describable in terms of oxygen and carbon dioxide molecules. Reproduction is explicable in terms of the replication of DNA molecules.

Yet the features of consciousness are things like the experience of colour and sound, the redness of the colour red is not describable in terms of the synaptic networks which supposedly give rise to it.

I don't mean to suggest that there is supernatural work afoot, but simply that I don't think we have a hope in hell of explaining the subjective experience of consciousness in terms of neural biology. I am worried that the game is a bogey.

It's a valid fear, but should we dodge the bullet out of fear or face the fact that we just don't/won't/can't know?

To me, it's poor form to shy from admitting the limits of our science just because we're scared of leaving a void that might get filled with nonsense. We should be able to live with the void. We are able to live with the void!

The doctors explain is missing an important cycle in falling asleep because thats all it is and its exactly what it feels like. Your body doses off and your stuck in a vegetable state

Aye, live with it. And shoot Raas. I'm sure that would help.

My dad always thought our old house was haunted, We had a double door leading into the living room that had glass windows on it. My dad said he used to see a saw a blonde boy glide past it he never mentioned this till like 2 years ago he had mentioned it to my mum lots though. thing is i have seen a figure in the corner of my eye do it before when i was downstairs playing video games on the TV in the early hours of the morning. I always thought it was my imagination until my dad brought it up.

I even remember not even wanting my eyesight to be anywhere near that door when i was on my own :(
