So one big fear most opiate users have when they go to bed is the worry about having their breathing relaxed so much, that they stop breathing and die. Even no opiate users could have this happen for a variety of reasons. So I have been thinking that there has to be a relatively easy solution to this fear.
If you could have some system that monitors your breathing/and or heart rate, then if they drop too low, it would sound an alarm, and wake you up. Maybe you could set it up to alert a roommate also. Seems like a pretty simple idea that could save a lot of lives.

I found some sleep monitoring systems that retail for about $130. But I'm not sure if it would sound an alarm when your breathing slowed or stopped. It might just record the data, and not wake you up.
