Opioids Sleep deprived....What should I do??

I am detoxing from both. Im pretty sure I said it in my original post....I was on 160mg split 80/80 & about 12mgs of xanax. Of course I know thier wikl be wds-Ive gone down 125mgs of meth & went to diazapam 14mg/daily.
Thats the problem w so many replies my original ? People dont know bc they dont read the original post. My ? was since ive lowered my doses a great deal I cant sleep at night but after I get my dose I sleep for 4-5 hours. So would it be better to not sleep during the day or would it not matter that much bc obviously the 35 isnt holding me throughout the night but thats to be expected.

Really bc it dosnt matter for the guy just for us girls which sucks. He just dosnt want to be an "old" father. But Ive thought about it & Im gonna go at my own pace. If it bothers him that much hell have to break up w me. Which he says hell never do but i refuse to be bullied to go down on my meth quicker than i see fit. Ive done it thus far & have talked w my counslor & dr who both say the same thing. You know your body & in the long run whats 6 months compared to the rest of your life.....nothing.

Just saying you prob should not say you husband or fiancee or w/e sells his drugs. Just saying.
 
Have you tried any prescription sleep aids? It can take some time of trying different ones and at different doses before you find what will work for you. I get really bad insomnia when I am detoxing.. this past kick, I was in detox for 2 weeks and it was so bad that I had a seizure that was a large part induced from sleep deprivation/high blood pressure after about 8 days. They started trying dif sleep meds on me, knowing I desperately needed to be put down at night. Eventually, I tried 200mg of seroquel at night time and it did the trick, for me at least. But trazedone, all types of other shit didn't work.
 
She has a tolerance to the diazepam, which I would love to be scripted to, never happened!.....^If Seroquel(quietapine) worked for dude who just kicked for 2 weeks with a 4 bundle habit and seizures and shit, I'd consider asking a doc about it....

I've been prescribed it for being bat shit crazy(bipolar), but never for WDs. I don't know if they'd let you mix it with valium though...
 
i think the best thing to do in this situation is to exercise, maintain a healthy diet, and have a good sleep routine. bear with it, you will be able to sleep eventually, just not for a little while longer.

using other drugs to help you sleep will definitely help, but then after you completely come off methadone/diazepam, you wont be able to sleep without a sleeping pill, so then you will have to being sleep deprived again. taking sleeping-drugs will just prolong the inevitable...this is the same for using drugs to help you stay awake energize you...
 
i think it could be the methadone. when i take it, it tends to keep me awake all nite. and idk but ive read on the internet that seroquel had been prescribed "off label" for withdrawals from opiates and the same with gabapentin (neurontin).
 
^^what you're saying is absolutely true, but changin you're living habits is a bitch! I know how to eat healthy, exercise etc. I just have so much trouble doing it! The less drugs you're dependent on the better, but I'd deal with one thing at a time. Get the opiate demon off your back!
 
i know when i take methadone it tends 2 keep me awake all nite. which can be an annoying side effect. also regarding the seroquel, ive read that it and neurontin have been prescribed "off label" for opiate withdrawal.
 
Thanks guys! It gives me hope that people other than me stay awake all night bc of meth. I never thought of seroqil(?sp) & I know the shit knocks me out as Ive taken it before.Trazodone sucks IMO it leaves me with a "hangover" feeling & I get all light headed. I just know serquil makes you gain a ton of weight bc she gained like 100#s on it!! Everytime I took it in the past they gave me that "munchies" feeling.
But yesterday I was really busy(we got new couches & coffee/end tables) & pick them up & put them together so I slept only like anhour &a half & i actually slept....well better than usual.
I dont get why I cant say hes my fiancee bc he sells his rx of kpins when Ive seen ALOT of people say alot worse on this site!! He sells them to one person & I would barley call him a drug dealer!! I thought this site was annomous anyway.

BTW if you can manage to not sleep during to the day for like a week give it a try. It may help you at night more then you think and if it does not work there is nothing lost.

It's actually NREM sleep that rests you, particularly Stage III NREM (slow-wave sleep). REM sleep is important for general health and the part of your memory that helps you remember how to do things, but NREM is where you get your rest.
 
what is your physical routine like? try and get as much exercise as possible. even something as simple as a walk can do a lot for sleep.
 
When I quit cold turkey i did not sleep for 5 whole nights until i smoked marijuana and drank some beers. Alot of people dont recomend replacing one substance with another but alcohol helped me the most through my withdrawl.
 
Yeah I hear ya, beachboy cos when I went through wd from benzos I thought I was going to die. I had drank a couple beers to keep the shakes off and it helped me to clear my head though I still couldn't sleep.

Seroquel is like trying to fix a papercut with a welding torch. (heard this phrase here somehere) It's a rough drug and will give you much worse of a hangover than trazadone. Besides eating everything in the kitchen before passing out. :(

The variance in side effects is bigger than you think. People react to drugs differently. Chances are more that there exists a non-GABAergic substance which can promote sleep well in an individual without side effects than there doesn't. Mirtazapine, Melatonin, Rozeram, Trazodone, and Benztropine are only a few of such substances which rare routinely used as sleep-aids.
 
I'm still wondering why are you taking benzos at morning? After all, they are sleep meds and sleeping morning with them and then complaining you can't get sleep at night sounds little odd to me.
 
Just following the drs orders. Im one of those people that actually do have bad anxiety(if i dont take my 4mgs in the am-bc I take as little as possible in the am) my hands start shaking really bad...I can hardly write. Its very embarrasing & my fiancee hates it as well. My doc knows im coming off the meth but he still thinks I should take 4mgs in the am & a 10 @night. Im sure(very soon) I wont take any in the am bc that seems to be the way hes going.

youre prescribed 14mg diazepam all dosed at one time at the same time you dose your methadone ?

To me it sounds like u have plenty of other stressers going on other than getting off methadone and benzos alone, youve got to have a completely clear head to get through the w/d alone so any extra stressers will make it impossible. youre taking on too much weight, take things a day at a time. Talk to your doctor about getting your benzo dose split up, i dont understand why any doctor would prescribe a patient 14mgs of diazepam all at once in the morning WITH the dose of methadone.. goodluck
 
Short answer: take yourself time. Week, two weeks, month. And then sleep every time it's possible and if you can't sleep, don't worry about it, read or come to BL or whatever.

You have to be not exhausted if you want to start rearranging your body clock and sleep rythms etc. I will PM you a longer answer:)
 
I am NOT rxed 14mgs of diazapam at once!! 4mgs in the am....10mgs in the pm. If you're not going to read my posts right,please don't respond to them. Also you have NO IDEA what my lifes like so don't make judgments. You wouldn't like them made about you.
