sleep and opiates?

opiates have a tendency to amplify the periods of respiratory depression in people with pre existing sleep apnea. recently after snorting 2mg of suboxone (w/ little to no tolerance) i went to sleep around 12 hours later after getting sick a few hours before that (bupe always makes me puke) and my iris's had constricted my pupils to a track mark diameter. was it safe to go to sleep? i have felt off for the last few days... like i have significantly less on my mind...

i have no history of apnea, so did i od in sleep? when i woke up my lips were not blue, nor were my nails/eyelids

any answer that someone will give you here would be nothing but pure speculation.

safe answer: probably not a good idea if you are alone.

I can tell you that when on opiates, especially higher doses, I had sleep apnea and also snored like an orchestra of chainsaws. I remember waking up in a detox wing after they'd given me ms contin and the doctor was watching me. He asked if I was aware that I had sleep apnea. Note that in the wing they were giving me much lower doses than I was used to, so it wasn't an overdose.

I don't have sleep apnea now that I'm abstinent, and I'm pretty sure I don't snore anymore either.
