The street-sweeper strips the sidewalk
Up with gold while soles describe the paces set
___inside the strides of loneliness
___the places people go, the lowly
Heels and toes held holy for the
Crimson birds that riddle the grey
___gutters of the road.

One more sunset silhouette and the mirrors all will die
Reflecting nights cold fires elucidates their spires
___old dirges held between
___the secrets of skyscrapers
Told us how they all will die.
Street-sweeper waits for night to go
Grows old and murmurs why
To pigeons; and they know
___the secrets scrawled within the streets
___and gutters as they glow.

This is magical... especially the opening. The city morning appears.

It always takes me a few readings, sometimes over a few days, to appreciate your poems, but they never fail to blow me away. I have so many of your words printed and hanging on my wall.

That touched me in a way words can't quite describe.
Especially this;
_inside the strides of loneliness
___the places people go, the lowly
Heels and toes held holy for the
Crimson birds that riddle the grey
___gutters of the road.

Thank you for sharing.
