i'll probably get mega flamed, but i just have to turn off triple j 9.5 times out of 10 when Skrillex comes on.

I can see he's very clever at what he does, but somehow it just grates on my nerves.

does anyone else share my pain, or have I reached that time in my life when I should switch to ABC National?

Your mistake is listening to jjj, in the first place. I'm guessing that you're older than 14 when I give that advice.

You don't like JJJ, Quiet Roar? Sure, I cringe everytime they call it the youth station, but having been listening to it for 25 years plus I struggle to find other stations with the same diversity. Any suggestions? (FBI? - no. SER? - no.)

I still flick over to it when my other stations aren't impressing but I rarely hear anything that makes me want to stay listening. Maybe it's just me getting old but jjj seems to have gotten a lot more generic over the years: It's either some band that sounds like The Living End or an "electro pop" artist that sounds just like the other 15 electro acts, around at the same time. Somebody once mentioned how it all started to decline when the station began taking notice of ratings, and I think there may be something in that theory.

I still think it's cool that the station is nationwide so country kids can get some exposure to different music but when I remember how varied it used to be, I find it disappointing.

Personally, I swing between RRR and PBS. On the rare occassion that both those are doing it for me, I will try jjj or the classical stations. I'm not sure where you're from so I can't recommend anything specific but most places have community radio stations, and that is where my ears would be pointing.

I dont get the whole dubstep fad. Ill fuck with techno but I just cant get into dubstep. It just sounds like shit. At least techno has a steady rythym to follow. Dubstep is just like....random mechanical sounding noises.

Glad I mainly listen to rap though

lol wtf u cant get the beat to dubstep?there is defently a beat for example you cant tell me theres not beat there mate.FUCK THE HATERS :D n jeeze fuck i cant understand what there saying half the time in rap music that shit makes my ears bleed! hehe

Does it have a beat? I ask you if you could fuck to it? I say no. There is no soul or funk my brother.
 
Im not trying to be a hater im just saying I dont like it personally. the first poster said he had the same opinion so its not like im the only one bashing your transformer orgy music. Not to mention it puts a bad name on dub music, which is markedly different than dubstep. Now if I ask people if they listen to dub music they think im talking about dubstep.

like that really grinds my gears
 
^^ Yeah, those folks referring to it as dub, shit me too.

However, there's lot's of beat, soul and funk in dubstep, just not with skrillex and other shit producers.

Busty, you can definitely fuck to some dubstep - try burial.
