Last night's episode was sooooo good! I can't beleive Nate - he is never going to be happy. He wasn't happy with Lisa when he thought he would be and isn't happy with Brenda when he thought he would be. He is being very self absorbed and choosing the worst time to be a dickhead. I feel sorry for Brenda.

Oh and poor Ruth...
 
I can't believe Ruth went to George's new fiance and talked to her like that! But then again I can't believe George has another fiance!!
 
What the fuck is nathan doing?! It seems like he wants to throw his life down the shitter. Anyone else think nathan has just turned into the most selfish asshole? I guess he was always selfish. :\
 
he just has this anger and ability to turn everything into an argument. Nathan and Brenda have always been my two favorite characters, but now their just a bitchy married couple with a kid...

I'm so pissed at Nate! I actually had a hard time watching him get it on with that Quaker chick (who's still technically his step-sister, right?). I agree that he's always given off a selfish vibe -- he just seems very self-absorbed, especially lately. Poor Brenda ... and she actually showed up at that service too, just for him! :(

Yeah and what the hell is Brenda going to think when she finds out he had a stroke at the quakers house? Hmmm...
 
I know!! I so thought he was alive for good. . but then out of nowhere he was dead!! I was just sitting there with my jaw dropped. . . .crazy. .

Part of me thinks he deserves it for what he's done to Brenda, then again, he had finally found happiness with the quaker.

Moral of the story? Be miserable or die.

Poor everyone. Nate was a selfish bastard but people still loved him.

God, I'm so shaken up by this! It's only a tv show ... but damn!
 
I know, I find it somewhat ridiculous how into these shows I get. . .but I suppose as long as I realize that it isn't REAL, I should be ok.

Well, I hope to be ok, at least. . .:\

Holy shit they are goin' out with a bang!

A few thoughts:

a) Will Brenda completely lose her shit? Nate didn't actually admit that he'd cheated, and as I thought about it afterwards, his comments to her were so vague and spooky that they could be interpreted by Brenda later as Nate's foreboding of his own death, that she was going to have to literally soldier on without him rather than him just looking ahead to their split after he had recovered. If the writers took it that direction, Brenda could pull a serious self-destruct.

b) It's a given that Ruth is gonna completely lose it (what remains of it anyway) since she was off on her own looniness and couldn't be tracked down when Nate died.

c) Will we see any interaction between Nate and Lisa in an afterlife sequence in which Lisa's death is actually explained? First of all, I know we won't see it with just those two characters-that WOULD be over the top since so far the writers have never intimated an actual life after death sequence-but I'm wondering if perhaps we won't see it in say, Claire's afterlife interactions with Nate.

d) Looking back to the wedding last season, now I do think the seagull on the wedding cake was an omen to Nate that his marriage was not going to be happily ever after.

e) Who's next? ;)
